My Deceased Wife Wants a Divorce (Hannah) novel Chapter 469

James screamed at her, his voice frantic.

“Proof?” Hannah let out a cold laugh.

“The burden of proof lies with the accuser. Since you claim I slept with your boss, and you say you saw it with your own eyes and told all our colleagues, and I've already called the police, we can just let them sort out the truth. There's no need to waste our breath here.”

“The police are here,” Samuel said, walking over with a grin.

Behind him was a group of police officers. The sight made James' legs tremble uncontrollably. He took a terrified step back, swallowing hard as his breathing grew ragged.

“Now that the police have arrived, let’s have the person in charge pull the surveillance footage from the breakroom. We can all sit down and discuss this properly.”

Hannah smiled and led the way.

James could feel the stares of his colleagues, some of whom were even taking pictures with their phones.

His face went deathly pale, and he hurried to catch up.

“Officer, it’s a misunderstanding! This is all just a misunderstanding! I was just joking with her, I didn’t think she’d take it so seriously!”

He quickly tried to block the officers, hoping to make the whole thing go away.

“I wasn’t joking with you. You’re not just slandering me; you’re slandering the boss as well. I’ve already informed him, and he’s waiting in the conference room right now.”

Hannah pushed him aside, her eyes filled with a simmering rage, and scoffed.
