My Great Escape Led Me to You (Emily Blair) novel Chapter 1147

Amelia froze, her heart squeezing painfully in her chest.

Of course. How could she forget? Her brother and Isabella were divorced now. They weren’t husband and wife anymore.

But she wasn’t ready to just let it go. Andrew had always treated Isabella so well, giving her anything she wanted, spoiling her without a second thought. They’d been together for years, built so much history together. Feelings like that don’t just disappear the moment the papers are signed.

She couldn’t believe her brother truly felt nothing for Isabella.

With Grandpa Kevin and the rest of the Lane family completely out of the picture, Andrew was the only one she could count on. She had to make him listen.

Amelia clutched her phone tighter, her voice dropping to a desperate whisper. “Andrew, even if you’re divorced, you still have a child together. You still care about each other. I know you do. There’s no way you’d just walk away and leave Isabella to face this on her own. I just don’t believe it.”

She rushed on, barely pausing for breath. “I get it, okay? What Isabella did wasn’t right, but there has to be a reason. She’s not a bad person. Maybe she was forced into it. You know her better than anyone. You have to understand where she’s coming from, don’t you?” Amelia’s words tumbled out, her anxiety showing through. “I know everyone’s talking, and maybe you’re worried about what people will think. But we don’t have to fix everything at once. The first thing is just to get her out. That’s what matters.”

Her voice grew steadier. “Andrew, I know you still care about her. If you don’t help her now, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life. You don’t want to carry that kind of guilt, do you? Please, help us. Help me, Sebastian, and Mom. Let’s get Isabella out of there together.”

Amelia went on, pouring her heart out, hoping something she said would finally get through to him.

“Remember when Isabella had Dennis? She almost died giving birth, and the doctors didn’t know if she’d make it. You were terrified. You stayed by her side every second, never even left the hospital. Have you forgotten that? You two were so happy back then. After Dennis was born, you and the nanny took care of him so Isabella could recover. Everyone said you were the perfect husband, that Isabella was so lucky to have you.”
