Ryan Cox’s expression darkened. “Who reported me?”

Even as the words left his mouth, realization struck. He snapped his gaze toward Lucas Cox and Emily Blair. “It was you two!”

Emily Blair gave a soft, almost amused laugh. “That’s why I warned you, Mr. Cox. But you just had to wait until the Bureau came knocking before you’d believe me.”

Ryan clenched his jaw. “Lucas, are you in on this nonsense with her?”

Lucas’s face was cold, unreadable. “You left me no choice.”

Fury surged through Ryan. He stumbled back a few steps, voice rising. “I don’t care who you think you are. Get out of my office, now! Who’s in charge here? I want to speak to your supervisor.”

A woman stepped forward, her tone even and unyielding. “Mr. Cox, we need your cooperation with the Bureau’s investigation. If you refuse, we’ll have no choice but to call the police and charge you with obstruction.”

“Don’t waste time with him,” Lucas said, walking back into the conference room. He emerged with a thick stack of documents, which he handed over to the woman. “This is everything I’ve gathered over the years. Go ahead—check whatever you want. The finance department will cooperate fully.”

Ryan glared at him, seething. “So, when did you start preparing all this? I never suspected a thing.”

Emily smiled. “That’s not all, Mr. Cox. Remember that corporate spy you planted over at Vertex International?”

Ryan’s face twitched. “What spy? I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

Emily’s smile widened a fraction. “Samuel Walker, would you come in?”

At the mention of Samuel Walker’s name, Ryan’s expression shifted again, anger and panic flickering across his features.

The woman nodded. “Ah—I forgot to mention that earlier.”

She turned to Emily. “Was it you who reported Ryan Cox for stealing trade secrets?”

Emily nodded, then reached out and guided the hesitant Samuel Walker forward. “This is the man. You can ask him anything you need.”

The woman gave a curt nod.
