My Great Escape Led Me to You (Emily Blair) novel Chapter 910

Emily Blair couldn’t resist Elizabeth Wilson’s relentless nudging and finally looked up.

A sleek black SUV was parked at the curb. Albert Rivera stood beside it, dressed to the nines in a sharp suit and glasses, a pleasant smile playing at his lips. He cradled a bouquet of blue roses in one arm and waved at her with his free hand.

Elizabeth’s grin turned sly. “Look at that, he’s here for you again. What are you waiting for? Go on!”

Emily shot her a warning glare, murmuring, “Would you behave?”

But Elizabeth only urged her on, “Go, go! I’m not budging from here, so you’ll have to go by yourself.”

With a wary look, Emily fixed her with another glare before heading over to Albert.

As soon as Emily’s back was turned, Elizabeth’s eyes sparkled with mischief. She whipped out her phone and started filming the scene between Emily and Albert.

The last few times she’d tried to provoke Tristan Davis, he hadn’t reacted much. But a video—something this direct—might finally get an actual response out of him.

Through the phone’s camera, Elizabeth watched Emily cross the street toward Albert. Emily’s back was to the lens, so her face was hidden; only Albert’s expressions gave clues to the conversation—and he looked genuinely pleased.

Elizabeth’s eyes never left her screen, anticipation lighting her face.

Albert seemed to be offering Emily the blue bouquet. Emily hesitated, appearing to refuse, but after Albert said something more, she reluctantly accepted the flowers.

Elizabeth’s heart skipped—Emily accepted them!

With the blue roses in her arms, Emily watched as Albert gave her a friendly smile, then slipped into the SUV and drove off.

Elizabeth immediately stopped recording, tucking her phone away just as Emily came walking back.

She sauntered over, eyeing the bouquet with a meaningful smirk. “Well, well. Got yourself some flowers, huh? What’d he say?”

Emily brushed her fingers across the petals. “They weren’t meant for me.”

Elizabeth arched a skeptical brow. “Oh, come on. I saw everything. He handed them right to you.”

Ten long minutes passed. Nothing.

Emily, on the other hand, had her eyes closed, lost in her own thoughts. Clearly, Tristan hadn’t messaged her either.

Elizabeth let out a frustrated sigh and set her phone down.

Whatever—Tristan was busy. Not replying right away wasn’t unusual for him.

The week rolled by, and Saturday came. The moment Emily got home, she collapsed into bed and slept straight through till nightfall.

When she woke, the sky outside was pitch black.

Emma George had gone out for dinner with her girlfriends and wouldn’t be home that night, so Emily was on her own for dinner.

She didn’t feel like ordering takeout. Instead, she decided to make something simple—a bowl of clear broth noodles, just for herself.
