My Husband's Betrayal My Brothers' Revenge (Rebekah) novel Chapter 124

Benjamin looked down at his son. "Shawn, you go back to bed. Your mother and I need to talk."

Shawn seemed reluctant but obediently left the room.

"What is it?" Rebekah asked coldly, her arms crossed.

"My uncle is hosting a family dinner tomorrow. Get ready. We're going together."

Old Mr. Forrester had two sons: Benjamin's father, Edgar, and Edgar's older brother, Abbas. Due to an oversight at the Forrester Group, Edgar had been away on business for nearly a month. Abbas lacked Edgar's business acumen and had always been more interested in leisure. After marrying Violet Sherwood, the sole heiress to the Sherwood family, he had moved out of the Forrester Family Estate.

Though Abbas had no interest in the company, his son, Justin Forrester, had been appointed a director at a Forrester Group subsidiary and had posted impressive results over the years. Abbas had recently suggested that Justin be transferred to the headquarters. Benjamin had always been wary of him.

"I'm not going." The thought of Abbas's house filled Rebekah with dread.

Benjamin's expression darkened. "It's a family dinner. You don't have a choice." He paused, then added a threat. "If you don't go, I'll destroy the painting you bought from Candice today."

Rebekah's head snapped up. "You wouldn't dare!"

"Try me."

He was capable of anything when it came to Candice. Rebekah had no choice but to concede.

Benjamin gazed at her beautiful face, a flicker of desire in his eyes. His voice softened. "Rebekah, we're husband and wife. You have to believe me, if you just behave, things can go back to how they were."

He reached for her hand.

Benjamin froze. He shot Rebekah one last glare before turning and leaving the room.

Rebekah's heart finally stopped pounding.

Shawn came in and saw her slumped against the nightstand, her face pale, looking deeply shaken. "Don't worry, Mommy," he said, taking her hand. His voice was soft and comforting. "I won't let Daddy bully you."

For a moment, Rebekah felt as though her old son had returned. Looking at his innocent face, her heart softened. "Thank you, Shawn. Now go get some sleep."

He nodded obediently and left.

The moment the door closed behind him, his expression changed. He let out a disdainful huff. "Daddy belongs to Aunt Candice. I'll never let you two be together!"
