This was clearly a classic scene of a wife catching her husband cheating. This Mr. Forrester, with his bit of money, thought he could treat his wife like dirt. But as much as she judged him, the server didn't dare risk her job. If a real fight broke out, she'd be the one to suffer.
She approached Rebekah and said quietly, "Ma'am, why don't you come with me?"
Rebekah rubbed her sore jaw and glared at Benjamin. "I told you, I have a reservation. It's for the Celestial One private room."
"Celestial One?" Candice repeated, then laughed. "Celestial One is the best room in the entire restaurant. The reservation fee alone is in the five figures. You and that low-life driver can afford that?"
*Five figures?* Rebekah's confidence wavered. Her brother had made the reservation. Was it really that expensive? Or had she remembered the name wrong?
Candice turned to the server leading them. "Let me be honest with you. She's cheating on her husband, and she's broke. There's no way she could book your most exclusive room. She's lying."
The server glanced at Rebekah's attire. The silk dress was beautiful, but it didn't look like a high-end designer piece. She didn't look like someone who could afford the Celestial One room. The server began to believe Candice, and her attitude toward Rebekah hardened.
"Ma'am, if you continue to cause a scene, I will have to call security."
Benjamin delivered his final ultimatum. "Go home."
Rebekah didn't move. The server was about to grab her arm when the restaurant manager arrived. "What is going on here?" he demanded.
The server immediately greeted him. "Manager."
Anyone who could book Celestial One at The Verdant Bistro was either incredibly wealthy or powerful. He was certain Rebekah and Jensen couldn't afford it. The only explanation was that she had found another rich man, someone on par with him.
His accusation made Rebekah's face flush with anger. "What? In your eyes, if I do anything even remotely luxurious, it must mean I'm sleeping with some rich man?"
Candice sneered. "What else could it be? You're a cripple now, and you're about to be divorced. You think you could get into a place like this on your own?" She snorted, defending Benjamin. "No wonder you were so insistent on the divorce. It looks like you've been lining up your new meal tickets for a while now."
The manager and server now looked at Rebekah differently, but they remained professional and said nothing.
Just then, the elevator arrived. The manager turned to Rebekah. "The elevator is here. Shall we go up?"
