My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 23

Meanwhile, Amelia was still sitting at the dining table, waiting for the person Seraphina wanted to introduce her to. She sighed, starting to feel sleepy.

“You know, Cassia… you don’t really know what I’m into. I’m a doctor,” Seraphina said casually.

Amelia didn’t look surprised. At least now she understood why there was a hospital inside the house.

“You don’t look surprised,” Seraphina noted.

Amelia smiled lightly. “Yeah, I saw the room that looks like a hospital in your home… so I figured.”

Seraphina returned her smile, but there was a flicker of sadness in her eyes. “I turned that room into a hospital ward after my husband fell sick. I didn’t want him to stay in the pack hospital, so I brought him home to be cared for properly, but unfortunately, he died.”

“I’m sorry for your loss,” Amelia said softly.

“It is what it is. It’s in the past now.” Seraphina gave her a small smile, and Amelia nodded. She could only imagine how much pain Seraphina had endured. Losing her daughter and her husband… They were more alike than she thought. She too had lost, Aiden, the moment he broke the bond.

The thought of Aiden shattered her heart all over again. Especially knowing he had tried to kill her… and was now getting married to Sofia, who was carrying his child.

Sadness clouded her expression. She couldn’t wait for the day she would make them pay for what they did.

Her hand instinctively went to her stomach. She couldn’t protect Eva from those who had killed her. But she would do everything in her power to protect this child.

“Oh look, he’s here,” Seraphina said, breaking the silence.

Amelia lifted her head and froze.

The man walking toward them was, without exaggeration, the most handsome man she had ever seen.

Tall and slender in a black suit, with neatly arranged black hair and soft, pink lips. He looked like something out of a dream. A demi-god in human form.

She found herself staring.

The man moved toward her and cleared his throat gently, pulling her back to reality.

“Seraphina, this is Damien Blackwood, my beta’s son. Damien, this is Cassia, my daughter,” Seraphina introduced.

Damien smiled, revealing a perfect set of white teeth. He extended his hand. “Nice to meet you, Cassia.”

“Yeah… nice to meet you too,” Amelia replied, shaking his hand.

The moment their skin touched, something passed between them,a jolt, a vibration that traveled through her spine. Damien felt it too.

Amelia swallowed hard, trying to suppress the feeling while wondering what the feeling meant. She glanced at their joined hands, which Damien hadn’t let go of. When he noticed her gaze, he smiled and released her gently.

“You’re just as pretty as my father described,” Damien said, then turned toward Kael. “Dad.”

Kael smiled at his son.

Amelia gave Kael a polite smile as Damien took a seat opposite her.

“Are you sure about what you’re doing? Giving everything you have and putting it in her name? Making her the new Alpha?”

“Yes, I’m sure,” Seraphina said firmly. “I feel this connection to her that I can’t explain. From the moment I laid eyes on her, I felt it.”

“The council will start talking again, even though you’ve addressed them. They’ll want to know who this sudden heir is and where she came from. And the people in the pack will start to whisper. Many will believe your daughter has somehow risen from the dead and that you practice black magic.”

“You don’t need to worry about that, Kael. I’ll take care of everything. I just want to make sure no one from the Red Moon Pack finds out she’s alive. And I’m certain no one here will recognize her as the former Luna of Red Moon. That pack is far from here. The possibility is zero.”

Kael fell silent for a moment, then asked, “Aside from whatever connection you feel… what if she finds out the truth?”

“She won’t,” Seraphina replied. “I’ll make sure she never does.”

Just then, Damien returned from his call and sat down again, looking around.

“Where is she?”

“She went to her room to rest,” Seraphina said. “She needs enough rest, especially knowing she’s carrying a child.”

Damien’s expression changed for a brief second, surprise flickering in his eyes. But then he smiled again.

“You have all the time in the world to get to know each other, Damien,” Seraphina added gently.

Damien nodded. “Okay, then. I’ll be on my way.”
