My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 24

Meanwhile, Sofia paced back and forth in her apartment, her face clouded with worry. She had told James she was only coming home to pack her things, but in truth, she needed time to think.

She had lied about the pregnancy to Aiden. Yes, they had spent time together in the hotel but Aiden never really touched her. He was always drunk and talking about Amelia and Eva. Even though she tried to force him into doing anything, he just would not.

Running a hand through her hair, she sighed, anxiety tightening her chest. If she moved into the house and her stomach didn’t begin to grow, someone would get suspicious.

She bit her lip nervously and glanced at Dante, who was lounging on the couch, silently scrolling through his phone.

“Dante… at least say something,” she muttered.

He raised his head and sighed. “You should do a pregnancy test. Who knows, you might actually be pregnant. We haven’t exactly been careful lately.”

Sofia frowned but said nothing. At his insistence, she sighed, walked over to her wardrobe, and pulled out a pregnancy test tube. Moments later, she entered the bathroom.

She peed on the stick and waited for the result. A few agonizing minutes passed before two bold red lines appeared. Her eyes widened. She was shocked.

She was actually pregnant.

Sofia dumped the test into the trash and stepped out of the bathroom, her face unreadable. Dante looked up.

“So? Are you pregnant?”

She hesitated for a moment before answering. “No. I’m not pregnant. I’ll just think of something else. Maybe seduce Aiden into sleeping with me again… get pregnant for real.”

Dante shrugged and returned to his phone.

Sofia glared at him. If she truly was pregnant, it meant only one thing… but she didn’t want to think about that. She quickly forced the thought from her mind.

“I’m leaving now,” she said, finishing with her luggage and zipping it shut. She gave Dante a quick smile, dragged the bag outside, loaded it into her car, and drove off,

Everything was finally falling into place. She was about to become the Luna of Red Moon Pack. Sofia Miller, the Luna. Her dream had come true, even if it meant spilling blood.

Amelia was dead. Eva was dead. And she was pregnant with Aiden’s child.

A satisfied smile tugged at her lips as her car rolled to a stop in front of the mansion.

Seven Months Later

Cassia walked out of her office in the pack house after signing a new contract with clients. She was heavily pregnant and nearly due.

Since arriving at Velaris Pack, she had been practicing medicine at the hospital, gradually improving. Alpha Seraphina had also taught her a lot about her personal side businesses.

For the first time in a long time, Cassia felt… happy. The past seven months had been productive. She was slowly moving forward from her past. The pain was still there, but not as sharp as before.

Her phone rang. Damien.

“Damien,” she said warmly, answering the call.

“Cassia, how are you feeling?”

Blood

“Oh my God! Ma’am! Blood!” one of the maids cried out.

“We need to get her to the hospital. Now!”

They guided her quickly toward the door, just as it opened and Beta Kael stepped in.

“Jeez, what’s going on?” Kael asked, alarmed.

Cassia didn’t respond. She kept staring at the door, hoping Seraphina would appear.

“She had important matters to attend to… she’s not coming back tonight,” Kael said, quickly moving to lift Cassia into his arms.

“I need her… please…” Cassia sobbed, tears spilling down her cheeks.

Kael’s eyes softened. “I’ll call her.”

He motioned for two maids to ride in the backseat with her, then slipped into the driver’s seat, dialing Seraphina again and again.

Her line wasn’t going through.

For the first time in years, Kael felt true fear grip his chest, for what was about to happen next.
