My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 25

Meanwhile, Cassia was being rushed into the hospital in a wheelchair and immediately taken to the emergency ward.

They placed her on a bed and quickly began preparing everything needed for the delivery. One of the nurses leaned close, urging her firmly, “You have to push, Cassia. The baby’s in danger.”

But Cassia had no strength left. She felt like her entire body had been drained, like life itself was slipping from her grasp.

“You have to try, Cassia. Push, or the baby will drown and die!” one of the doctors warned. She nodded weakly, took a deep breath, and let out a scream as she attempted to push.

“Arghhh!” she cried, her voice breaking from effort, but nothing was happening. She was slipping into oblivion. She truly felt she might die today.

“I think she’s having complications,” one of the doctors said urgently. “We’ll need to perform a C-section immediately.”

Cassia’s eyes welled with tears.

All the pain she thought she had buried came surging back, the pain of losing her child, losing her mate, and now, this searing pain of childbirth. It was too much. She needed her mother. She needed Seraphina.

She and her mother had planned this moment. They were supposed to use the hospital in the house, not the main pack hospital. And Seraphina was supposed to be right here, by her side.

But she wasn’t.

Cassia’s eyes began to close. As darkness surrounded her, she suddenly saw Eva. her little daughter walking into the room with her small, innocent smile.

“Eva?” Cassia whispered in disbelief. “What are you doing here?”

Eva walked to her and gently held her hand.

“Mommy, my baby brother is supposed to be born today,” she said sweetly. “You have to push. Remember, he’s the future Alpha.”

Cassia’s heart clenched. She was exhausted, in pain, barely holding on but Eva’s soft voice and smile gave her strength.

“I… I can’t,” she whispered.

“Yes, you can. Baby Arthur is waiting. Go on, Mommy, push,” Eva encouraged.

Cassia closed her eyes and pushed again with all her might.

The doctors and nurses, who had been preparing for surgery, froze as they heard her cry out again. They turned and gasped.

“The baby’s head,it’s coming out!” a nurse exclaimed.

Everyone rushed to support her. “Cassia, you’re doing it! Just one more push!”

Cassia was dripping with sweat. She looked over at Eva, still smiling. She smiled back, gathered the last bit of strength she had left, and gave one final push.

The cry of a newborn filled the room.

“My baby… My baby is here…” Cassia breathed. Relief flooded her as she saw her son.

“It’s a boy!” one of the nurses confirmed, and Cassia’s lips curled into a smile. Her eyes fluttered closed, tears slipping down. her cheeks. Blood gushed heavily from between her legs.

“The bleeding won’t stop… Her body isn’t healing,” one doctor said in alarm.

“Her wolf isn’t responding… Her body’s not healing itself,” another added, panic rising in their voices.

This was unlike anything they’d seen in Velaris. Normally, a mother’s wolf healed the body almost instantly after birth. But this…this was different.

Cassia’s eyes remained closed. Her mind drifted back to the day she left Red Moon Pack… to the beating… to the woman who saved her.

“Cassia… Cassia…” a familiar voice echoed in the fog of her mind.

“Mom…” she whispered faintly… and then everything went black.

Seraphina’s entire world shattered.

“No… No!” she cried. She connected Cassia to life support and grabbed the defibrillator.

She placed it on Cassia’s chest. Thud. Nothing.

Again. Thud. Still nothing.

“Ma’am…” Damien whispered, trying to stop her, but she shook him off.

“I’m not letting my daughter die again. Not this time!” she screamed, tears pouring down her cheeks.

Damien froze. He knew the pain Seraphina had to go through when her real daughter Cassia died. Amelia was like a second chance to her and losing Amelia would completely break her.

Seraphina ignored him, slammed the defibrillator down a third time…

Beep. Beep. Beep.

Her heartbeat returned. Cassia gasped, sneezed, and opened her eyes.

“She’s back!” Damien whispered, shocked. “She’s alive…”

Seraphina let out a deep, trembling breath, falling to her knees beside her daughter’s bed.

“Mom…” Cassia murmured weakly.

“My baby… you’re alive…” Seraphina whispered, wrapping her arms around her.

“I’ll call the nurses to come clean her up,” Damien said quietly and left the ward, giving the mother and daughter a moment alone.
