My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 39

Chapter 39

Aiden’s senses sharpened the moment her scent hit him. Familiar. Achingly familiar. His gaze snapped to the figure at the doorway, and as she stepped forward, each stride brought the fragrance closer, overwhelming him.

No… impossible. His mind reeled. He scanned her from head to toe, his heart thundering in his chest. Then her face. emerged from the shadows, and the blood drained from his body.

“Amelia…” The word fell from his lips, ragged with disbelief. Cold shivers raked down his spine.

She was dead. He had seen her grave with her name on it, he had watched the earth cover her.

Yet here she was, alive, radiant in a burgundy gown, emerald eyes piercing through the hall. She looked even more beautiful than the last time he had seen her. Too beautiful for this to be real.

“Amelia!” he called again, stepping away from his seat, striding toward her like a man possessed.

Cassia’s jaw tightened as their eyes locked. Her fists curled at her sides. This was the man who had destroyed her life, branded her a murderer, and left her for dead.

The man who had announced his new marriage while she was being laid to rest. Hatred surged in her chest like fire, and the memory of his cold voice asking for a divorce stabbed through her again. But still she felt a strange feeling she cannot explain too.

Aiden stopped in front of her, eyes wide, guilt burning across his face. He reached out, desperate to touch her, to confirm she was real.

But Cassia stepped back, her glare sharp enough to cut steel. Don’t you dare touch me.

Damien was already moving. He descended the stage quickly and slipped to her side, his hand finding hers. The warmth of his touch steadied her trembling.

Aiden’s gaze dropped to their entwined hands, fury tightening his chest. He watched as they walked past him, together,

unbroken.

Cassia’s breath hitched, grief rising inside her, her heart pacing to and fro. Facing Aiden again ripped open wounds she had buried deep. She forced back the tears burning in her eyes.

“Are you alright?” Damien whispered, gently brushing a strand of hair from her face.

She nodded, forcing a small smile. She had to stay strong.

With a steadying inhale, she stepped onto the stage beside James, who stood frozen, the microphone shaking in his grasp. Cassia’s calm fingers closed over it, drawing every eye in the hall.

“Thank you for welcoming me,” she began, her voice clear and resonant. “I know you are confused, and you have questions. But I cannot answer them all, not yet. What matters is this: I am back. I am no longer Amelia Lopez. My name is Alpha Cassia Wrenmoor.”

A ripple of gasps swept through the crowd. Her gaze swept deliberately to Sofia, catching her wide, horrified eyes.

“I promise you this, every family here will have my full care. Tomorrow, I will begin at the hospital, and I will give everything I have to finding the cure for this disease. That is my vow.”

Sofia stood rooted to the floor, her skin pale. Her knees threatened to give way. No… she was supposed to be dead.

She remembered sending Dante to finish her. She had seen the video, blood, lifelessness, a body. How had Amelia survived?

Fear churned inside her. Cassia’s words echoed in her skull: I am back. Did she know? Did she realize Sofia had tried to kill her?

Her fists trembled with rage. Why now? Why return now, just when Aiden was finally mine?

Her eyes flicked to the empty space where Aiden had been. He was gone. James too. Everyone had left her behind, it was just Alpha Alaric left: he looked too stunned for some minutes to speak.

“I think you should take Ethan home,” Alaric’s voice sounded behind her. His face was stone, unreadable.

Sofia forced a nod, turning to her son’s confused expression. “Come on, Ethan. Daddy’s waiting.”

“No,” Alaric corrected coolly. “Aiden left. You’ll return on your own.” Without another glance, he walked away leaving her all alone.

Sofia froze her hande curling into ficts as fury flored incide her. She was I aft behind by

Avamiana Arain!!!
