My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 40

Chapter 40

Sofia stood outside the pack ball, confusion twisting in her chest. Everyone had left without her. There was no way the would lower herself to take a taxi back to the mansion.

I am the Luma, she seethed. I deserve to be treated with honor, not abandoned like a commoner.

She glanced around. The hall was deserted except for a few guards. There was no other way home unless she called for help. Ethan tugged at her dress, his little face flushed with exhaustion.

“Mommy, I’m tired… I want to sleep.,” he whimpered, tears gathering in his eyes.

Frustration pricked her temples. She scooped him up, stroking his hair until his eyelids fluttered closed. Only then did she pull out her phone and dial Dante’s number. He answered on the first ring.

“Dante, pick me up at the pack hall,” she muttered.

“On my way,” he replied before cutting the call.

Relief slipped past her clenched teeth when a red car finally pulled up. The tinted window lowered, revealing Dante behind the wheel.

She exhaled sharply. “What took you so long?”

He stepped out, silently taking Ethan from her arms. His movements were gentle as he laid the little boy across the backseat, shutting the door with care.

“I came as soon as you called,” Dante said, but Sofia rolled her eyes, bitterness radiating from her. The sight of Amelia alive still burned her like acid. Dante had promised Amelia was gone. He had even sent proof. And yet, Amelia had stood in front of all of them tonight, very much alive.

Without answering him, Sofia slid into the passenger seat and shut the door hard.

Dante frowned, unsettled by her sudden coldness. Still, he climbed in, started the engine, and asked carefully, “Should I take you to the pack house?”

Sofia turned her face toward the window, refusing to look at him.

“If you don’t tell me where to take you, I can’t guess, Sofia.”

Her eyes snapped shut, then opened, glinting with fury. “Anywhere but the pack house. I need space to breathe.”

Dante nodded once and drove. Minutes later, the car rolled to a stop.

“We’re here,” he said softly.

Sofa’s gaze shot to the building “Your apartment? Of all places, you bring me here?”

“I didn’t know where else You’re exhausted, Sofia You need rest

She sighed heavily, then pushed the door open and stormed inside. Dante followed, lifting the sleeping Ethan into his arms, carrying him to a room, and fucking him beneath the duvet

When he returned, Sofia was pacing like a caged animal, muttering words under her breath, eyes wild with agitation.

“Sofia, you’re making me dizzy,” Dante said, exasperated “Calm down and tell me what’s wrong.”

Her head snapped toward him, searching his eyes. “You’d kill her again… if I asked?”

“You know I’d do anything for you, Sofia.” His voice was low, steady. He lifted his hand to her face, thumb brushing her cheek.

A small, dangerous smile curved her lips.

“You’re stressing too much, and I don’t like it,” Dante murmured, his thumb tracing down to her lips. His other hand slid over her body, lingering at her breast, kneading softly. A breathy moan escaped her.

She didn’t resist when he kissed her. Their mouths collided, hungry and desperate. His hands roamed, unzipping her dress, pulling fabric away until she stood naked before him. His mouth claimed her breasts, his hand slipping lower, coaxing gasps from her throat.

Her fingers clawed at his clothes, tearing them away. When he pressed her against the wall and entered her, a strangled moan tore from her lips.

She bit down on her cry, mindful of the her son sleeping in the next room, but her body betrayed her, shuddering under his touch. His pace quickened, rough, unyielding.

The sound of flesh meeting flesh echoed in the room, their voices tangled with moans and curses. Sofia’s eyes rolled to the back of her head, her body unraveling as he drove her higher.

“Yes! Don’t stop!” she cried, until release crashed over her, dragging him with her.

Panting, Dante carried her to the couch, collapsing with her in his arms.

His lips brushed hers as his voice dropped to a dangerous whisper. “So…. what’s the plan to get rid of her for good this time? By fire, by bullet, or by your hands. Say it, and I’ll do it”.
