My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 43

Chapter 43

Cassia woke early, dressing quickly with the intention of heading to the hospital, only to discover Damien and Arthur were already downstairs, waiting at the dining table.

“Good morning, Mommy,” Arthur greeted warmly.

Cassia leaned down and kissed his cheek. “How was your night, sweetheart?”

Arthur hesitated. He wasn’t sure how to answer. Images from the party kept playing in his head, his mother’s tense exchange with Aiden, the strange connection between them, and the whispers that followed. And then there was the way he himself resembled that man.

For years, he had never questioned who his father was. His family, Cassia and Damien and Alpha Seraphina had always given him more than enough love. But now… after seeing Aiden, doubts had begun to form. He wasn’t ready to ask his mother, not yet. But one day, maybe, he’d ask Aiden himself.

Finally, he forced a small smile. “It was fine, Mommy.”

Cassia smoothed his hair gently before turning to Damien. “And you, Damien?”

He shrugged lightly. “Fine. Looks like we’re all ready to begin work at the hospital today.”

Cassia nodded, hiding the storm inside her. Excitement and fear churned together, because today she would finally see her mother again. The thought filled her with both hope and dread.

She wanted Arthur to stay home, but she couldn’t bring herself to leave him alone at home. Not in this pack. It was safer if he remained by her side, always.

Breakfast passed quickly. Soon they were on the road, with Kate left behind to tidy the house.

A black car rolled to a stop before the Red Moon Pack hospital. As Cassia, Damien, and Arthur stepped out, a line of nurses and doctors awaited them, offering polite bows and warm greetings.

Cassia’s heart squeezed. The kindness reminded her of the day she gave birth to Eva here, the gentle way the staff had cared for her. Eva… Her chest tightened. Her little princess should have been alive to see this.

Her daydreaming shattered when she spotted them,Aiden and Alpha Alaric, both in black suits, standing at the entrance.

Cassia’s jaw clenched. Alaric rarely visited when she lived in Red Moon. He had despised her, and made no effort to hide it. And now, here he was.

Her eyes locked on Aiden next. His stare scared through her, stirring every wound he’d carved into her life. Hatred swelled inside her.

“Welcome to the hospital. Amelia,” Aiden said as he stepped forward.

Then Alpha Alaric passed through, his cold stare landing directly on Arthur.

Arthur smiled instinctively, polite and warm. But Alaric’s expression never softened. His eyes lingered on the boy’s face, those features, so strikingly like Aiden’s. The resemblance unsettled him.

For a moment, he wondered… Could he be Aiden’s son? No. He pushed the thought away and continued on.

Arthur’s smile faded as the man walked past. He shifted in his seat, uneasy.

Minutes passed. Arthur grew restless, the games he was playing was becoming boring to him. He slouched back, watching the doors. And then, Aiden appeared, James trailing behind him.

Arthur’s chest fluttered. Without thinking, he called out, his voice ringing clear through the lobby.

“Alpha Aiden!”

Aiden froze, startled. Slowly, he turned his head. His eyes met Arthur’s and for a heartbeat, time stopped.

“Son!” Something deep inside of him whispered to him.
