My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 45

Chapter 45

Damien growled, wiping the blood from his mouth. Ilis rage boiled over as he sprang from the ground and lunged at Aiden. He had wanted this fight for years, ever since the day he had found out Aiden had broken Amelia, tried to kill her, and left her to rot.

His fist connected with Aiden’s jaw, snapping his head to the side. Aiden snarled and returned the blow. The force of it made. Damien stagger, but instead of retreating, his wolf surged forward. His fangs slid down, claws bursting from his hands.

With a roar, Damien swiped at Aiden’s face. Aiden caught the blow with his forearm, claws tearing deep into his flesh. Blood spilled hot and fast.

Aiden’s wolf rose in fury, claws flashing as he slashed back, ripping across Damien’s arm. The two of them stood chest to chest, bloodied and snarling, ready to tear each other apart.

“That’s enough!” James barked, shoving himself between them. He spread his arms wide, forcing both men back. His voice carried the sharp authority of a Beta desperate to keep the Alpha’s reputation intact.

Before either of them could strike again, Cassia came rushing out of the hospital doors. She had heard the commotion, heard the whispers of Alpha Aiden fighting with Doctor Damien. Her heart sank when she saw them, blood dripping, eyes locked in a murderous stare.

“What the hell is this?” she snapped, striding forward, her fists clenched. Her gaze fell on Damien’s bloodied arm. Her stomach twisted in fury. “You injured him, Aiden?”

Her emerald eyes blazed as she closed the distance. “What do you want from me, Aiden? You tried to kill me once, and now you want to kill him too? If this is how you intend to act, then we’ll gladly leave your pack.”

She turned sharply, ready to walk away, when Aiden’s hand shot out and caught hers.

The contact sent a jolt through her spine. Her breath hitched, her heart hammering wildly against her will. For one fleeting second, the bond they once shared screamed alive, she could almost feel her wolf come back to life. She hated that her body remembered him.

Her eyes snapped up to his, filled with fire. “Don’t touch me.” She yanked her hand free, cold and furious.

Damien’s wolf snarled, but he stopped himself when he saw Cassia’s defiance. He didn’t need to intervene, she had already rejected Aiden’s touch with all the venom in her heart.

“Arthur, let’s go home,” Cassia called.

Arthur, who had run outside when he heard the shouts, stood frozen at the entrance. His wide eyes flickered between his uncle and Aiden.

For a moment, guilt crossed his young face, wondering if his earlier talk with Aiden had caused this. But he didn’t ask, he simply nodded and walked to his mother’s side.

As they passed, Arthur’s gaze locked on Aiden’s. There was confusion there, but also a quiet anger.

Cassia, Damien, and Arthur climbed into the black car. Aiden stood rooted to the spot, his chest heaving as he watched them drive away. His heart squeezed painfully. Not again. Not this time. I won’t let her leave me again.

“Alpha, your arm,” James said, pointing to the blood still dripping.

But Aiden didn’t care. His wounds would heal. What mattered was Amelia leaving him behind once more. With a frustrated growl, he turned on his heel, stormed into his car, and sped off into the night.

Damien’s eyes hardened. “About you. About the two of you in the past. He was opening doors you never wanted opened.”

Cassia’s blood went cold. Her worst fear had come true. Aiden was trying to plant his presence in Arthur’s heart. That wasn’t his right. Arthur was hers.

“That son of a bitch,” she spat, trembling with rage.

Damien’s voice softened as he stepped closer, taking her hand. “Cassia, let’s leave. Aiden doesn’t know boundaries. It’s only a matter of time before he tears into Arthur’s world. Let’s walk away before it’s too late. Let them cure their sickness without us. And besides…” His eyes darkened. “The test results today showed the disease weren’t Lupenthera. This is something else. Something we don’t even understand. For all we know, there may not be a cure.”

Cassia’s breath hitched. He was right, the symptoms were unlike anything she’d studied. It wasn’t airborne, nor spread by simple contact. Something in their wolf blood was being corrupted. Something primal. And she didn’t yet know how to fight

Still, she pulled her hand free from Damien’s. “I can’t.”

“Why?” Damien’s jaw tightened. “Is it because of Aiden?”

Her head snapped up, eyes blazing. “Because of Aiden? I hate that man, Damien! He destroyed me. He rejected me, stole my wolf, murdered my happiness. He’s the reason Eva never had justice!” Her voice broke, tears spilling despite her will. “He caused me every ounce of pain I carry.”

Damien’s anger faltered. He reached out, wiping the tears gently from her cheeks. “I’m sorry.”

Cassia inhaled shakily, regaining her resolve. “I can’t leave. Not yet. Not until I find my mother. Not until I get justice for my daughter. They all have to pay, Damien. Every single one of them has to pay for what that did to me.”
