My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 54

Chapter 54

“How dare you cheat on me?” Sofia’s scream ripped through the boardroom like glass shattering. Her chest rose and fell quickly, her eyes wild with fury as she glared at Aiden.

Aiden’s brow furrowed. “Cheat on you? With who?”

“Oh, don’t play dumb!” she spat, her voice breaking. “I saw the way you held her… I mean Amelia. The way your bodies touched, like lovers. Tell me the truth, Aiden, have you already started making out with her?”

She stepped closer, her hands trembling as she dragged them across his chest. “Tell me… does she make you feel alive again? Is it here?” her fingers pressed into his shirt, over his heart. “Or here?” her hand slid lower before she suddenly crushed her lips to his.

Revulsion hit him instantly. He gripped her shoulders and shoved her back, the bitter taste of her kiss lingering, unwanted. “What the hell are you doing, Sofia? Have you lost your mind?” His tone was sharp, like blade.

She stumbled but caught herself, tears now streaking down her face. “Lost my mind? For years….years….you’ve refused to touch me! And now, suddenly, she’s back and you can’t keep your eyes off her! Tell me, Aiden, am I not beautiful enough for you?” Her voice cracked as the words bled out of her.

For a flicker of a moment, guilt flickered in his chest. She was his wife. He owed her something. But no matter how much he tried, he couldn’t ignore the truth, his wolf rejected her scent, recoiled from her touch. Everything in him screamed that she wasn’t meant for him.

He exhaled harshly, running a frustrated hand down his face. “Can you stop crying already? Must you break down over every little thing?” His tone dripped with irritation, though deep down, he knew her pain was real.

Her sobs stilled, replaced with an icy sniff as she wiped her tears away. Crocodile tears or not, he couldn’t tell anymore.

“What are you even doing here, Sofia?” he asked flatly. His eyes narrowed as a thought struck him. She’d been overdressed earlier…too polished just to drop Ethan off at school. She had plans of coming here and he didn’t know.

“I’m the Luna,” she shot back sharply. “I’m here to do my duty.”

He arched a brow, skepticism etched in his expression. “Since when do you care about fulfilling your duties as Luna?”

“Since you suddenly decided the hospital was worth your time. If you’re going to be here, so am I. I’ll be by your side every step of the way.”

His jaw clenched. “That’s not the Luna’s role, Sofia. That’s what a Beta does. And I already have James for that.”

“Then consider it a new role,” she snapped with a shrug. “Because I’m staying.”

He shook his head, fists curling at his sides. She was impossible to reason with. “Fine. Then we’re leaving. Now.”

He paused, his eyes darkening as he stepped closer. His voice dropped into a low, dangerous growl. “And one more thing, do not ever try to raise your hands on me again. I won’t take it lightly next time.”

Without waiting for her response, he turned and strode out of the boardroom.

Sofia’s eyes burned with rage as she followed, her nails digging into her palms.

Meanwhile, Cassia stood outside the boardroom doors, inhaling deeply, trying to steady herself. Her mind raced back over what had just happened inside….the heat of Aiden’s touch, the ghost of her wolf stirring, the dangerous spark that terrified her as much as it thrilled her. But when Sofia had burst in, it had all vanished, like smoke fading from fire.

Her wolf… was it really dead? Or had Aiden’s presence awakened something she wasn’t ready to face?

Lost in thought, she walked the corridor until a familiar figure appeared, James.

“Amelia…” He stopped himself, correcting. “Doctor Cassia.” His voice carried a note of hesitation.

“James,” she replied softly. A faint smile tugged at her lips despite the storm inside her.

“How are you holding up? We haven’t had the chance to talk since you came back. And I haven’t seen Arthur…or Damien either.” His gaze scanned the hallway as though expecting them to appear.

Cassia rolled her eyes and turned away. Sofia wasn’t worth the energy. She had lives to save. “James, we’ll talk soon,” she said, walking off without a second glance.

James gave a brief nod, his eyes following her retreat.

Aiden’s gaze lingered too, locked on Amelia until she disappeared into her office.

Sofia noticed. Rage coiled in her gut like a serpent. Her nails bit into Aiden’s arm as she turned sharply to James. “What were you two talking about?”

“Nothing you need to know,” James said flatly.

“Oh, I think I do.” Sofia’s voice dripped venom. “Who knows what plans she’s scheming? She killed Eva, maybe she’s planning to finish the job and kill us all…”

Her words died in her throat when Aiden snapped his head toward her, his eyes burning with lethal fire.

“One more word against Amelia or Eva and I’ll forget you’re my wife.” His voice was low, but it vibrated with a promise that chilled her to the bone.

Fear cracked through Sofia’s spines. She stumbled back, trembling under the weight of his stare.

Aiden wrenched his arm free from her grip and strode down the hall. James followed, silent.

Sofia stood frozen, her whole body shaking before rage consumed her again. Her jaw tightened, veins pulsing at her temple.

Cassia Wrenmoor.

She would make her regret ever coming back.
