Aiden’s car came to a stop in front of Amelia’s parents‘ house. There were lots of security guards lined up at the gate, but Amelia’s father, Greg, had refused to let them in.
He wasn’t in the mood to entertain any of them. And he had stopped his wife from going out to speak with them.
“Greg, please… can you just let me tell them Amelia isn’t here, so they can leave…” Evenly pleaded.
“No. This is your daughter’s fault. If she hadn’t come here in the first place, no attention would’ve been brought here. She’s such bad luck,” Greg cursed, and Evenly sighed.
She wondered why Aiden was suddenly searching for her daughter, wanting her back after everything he had done to her. What did he really want?
She hoped her daughter was already out of the pack–and safe. She prayed Aiden never found her.
She heard a bang on the door again, followed by Aiden’s voice.
“I, Aiden Miller, Alpha of Red Moon Pack, order you to open this door now!” Aiden growled, but Greg didn’t move. He sat on the couch with an unbothered look on his face.
Evenly glared at him and angrily stood up to open the door.
“What do you want, Alpha?” Evenly asked with a straight face, trying to suppress the urge to punch Aiden in the face.
“I know you’re mad at me, Mrs. Evenly. I made a grave mistake. I just want my wife back. Please,” he muttered.
Evenly laughed like he’d just cracked a joke.
“As you can see, my daughter isn’t here…” she glared at him with nothing but hate in her eyes.
Aiden paused, staring back at her like he didn’t believe her.
“I can perceive her. I know she’s in there… Guards, search the house,” he ordered, and in no time, the guards marched into the house, searching every nook and cranny.
Tears gathered in Evenly’s eyes.
“After what you did to my daughter, you think you have the right to come here and disrespect me and my family just because you’re the Alpha of this pack?” Evenly yelled and slapped Aiden hard across the cheek.
Aiden gasped in shock but kept calm.
Two guards suddenly moved toward Evenly and held her hands. Hitting an Alpha was a punishable crime and Evenly would be punished for slapping Alpha Aiden.
“Go on! Tell them to kill me! I hope you never find my daughter. I hope she leaves this pack safely with her baby and never comes back!” she yelled while struggling to pull away from the guards.
Greg, who hadn’t planned to interfere, stormed out of the house, rage burning through his veins. All he could think about was killing Aiden.
“You tell your men to let go of my wife, or I’ll be forced to kill every one of them…” Greg muttered coldly, locking eyes with Aiden.
Aiden signaled for his men to release Evenly immediately–not out of fear, but out of respect. Greg had once been his father’s Beta before he was banned from the pack house and stripped of his duties because of what happened between him and Aiden’s father.
He still respected the man.
Aiden signaled again, and the guards searching inside came out.
“Sir, we didn’t find her inside,” one of them reported.
Aiden said nothing.
He could still perceive her scent. If she wasn’t in the house, then she had been there… but had already left.
“You need to see this,” James said and handed him a phone.
Evenly noticed the change in Aiden’s expression. She wondered if he had found Amelia’s location. She grabbed the phone from him unexpectedly–and to her horror, saw Amelia’s blood–soaked body.
“Oh my God… Amelia… my Amelia!” she screamed in shock.
Greg took the phone from her and stared at the screen.
His face went pale.
Amelia was dead.
“You killed my daughter! You rejected her, accused her of killing her child–and now you killed her! You killed her!” Evenly screamed, lunging at Aiden, but guards quickly held her back, protecting the Alpha,
“You monster! You killed my daughter! I will never forgive you! You killed my child! She was pregnant–and you killed her…”
she fell to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably.
“My daughter loved you…. she went against me to marry you–and this is how it ends for her? How could you kill her? She carried your children… she…”
Greg paused, trembling. He threw the phone back at Aiden, trying to mask the pain ripping through him.
He was a man. He didn’t want anyone to see him break. Even though his daughter had been stubborn, even though she went against him—he still loved her. He only pretended not to… to punish her.
And now she was gone.
“Get out of my house, Aiden… OUT! NOW!” Greg roared.
Aiden nodded slowly, took a step back… and without saying another word, walked to his car and drove off. His guards followed behind.
