My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart novel Chapter 122

**Chapter 122: A Kiss and a Confession**

As Oriana stepped across the threshold, her breath caught in her throat, and she found herself momentarily paralyzed by the scene that greeted her.

There, on the luxurious, cloud-like couch, lay Micah, curled up in a peaceful slumber, his face a striking blend of beauty and tranquility.

The sheer white curtains danced lazily in the soft breeze, casting a gentle, ethereal glow throughout the room. It was a vision so idyllic that it felt as though she had stumbled into a painting, one so exquisite that she could hardly tear her gaze away from it.

Time slipped through her fingers, and Oriana lost track of how long she had been mesmerized by the sight before her. Before she even realized it, her feet had moved of their own accord, carrying her closer to the couch where Micah lay.

She crouched down slowly, a whisper in her mind urging her to bridge the gap, to close the distance just a little more…

Holding her breath, Oriana felt her heart race as she locked her gaze onto Micah’s sleeping face. She couldn’t blink, couldn’t look away, as if any movement would shatter the fragile moment.

Her eyes, drawn like a magnet, drifted to his pale pink lips, and she felt a rush of heat wash over her. She swallowed hard, her heart pounding in her chest, and then, in a moment of sheer impulse, she lost all restraint.

She kissed him.

Her lips brushed against his, a fleeting touch reminiscent of a dragonfly skimming the surface of a tranquil pond.

Even that gentle caress seemed to dissolve the weariness that had settled in her bones after a long, tumultuous day.

A warm, sweet sensation blossomed within her, filling her with an unexpected joy.

But then, reality crashed back in as Oriana leaned back slightly, her cheeks aflame as she stared at the sleeping beauty before her.

“You know, you don’t really have to pretend to be asleep, right?” she said, her voice a mix of teasing and sincerity.

At this close range, Oriana watched as Micah slowly opened his eyes, those glassy orbs revealing a world of emotions.

She had always known his eyes were captivating—she had marveled at their depth during their wedding photo shoot.

Now, with the warm amber light of the setting sun spilling through the window behind her, the soft glow in his hazel eyes made her heart skip a beat.

His gaze was vacant yet somehow filled with her essence, as if she were the only thing that mattered in his world.

Just like it had been for the past decade.

“About what just happened—” Oriana began, her heart racing with anticipation, but Micah cut her off.

With a serious expression, he replied, “Yeah… I know it was an accident, Oriana. It’s really not a big deal.”

Oriana opened her mouth to protest, but she had meant every second of that kiss.

“I must’ve dozed off. What do you want for dinner? I’ll make it,” she said, attempting to steer the conversation away from the tension that hung between them.

As he spoke, he reached for his sleeve, preparing to rise from the couch, acting as if nothing significant had transpired. If it weren’t for the telltale flush of red creeping up his ears, she might have believed him.

A sigh escaped Oriana’s lips as she pressed her fingers to her forehead, guilt washing over her for pushing such a good man to this point.

After a moment’s hesitation, she said, “Let me take care of dinner tonight. I want to make something I enjoy.”
