My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart novel Chapter 124

**He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen 124**

The man’s grip on her right hand faltered for just a moment, a flicker of uncertainty passing over his features.

“Nothing, really,” he replied, his voice barely above a whisper.

Oriana narrowed her eyes, skepticism etched on her face. “Seriously?”

Micah, despite his many talents, had always found it impossible to resist her.

He hesitated, his brow furrowing as he searched for the right words. “I thought… maybe you were going to say goodbye. Because of what happened last night…”

“Last night?” she echoed, her mind racing, piecing together the fragments of their previous encounter. Suddenly, a cascade of thoughts ignited in her mind, bursting forth like a series of colorful fireworks.

Her temples pulsed with frustration as she yanked her hand away from his grasp, the air between them thick with tension.

“You actually thought I’d go back to my ex?” she exclaimed incredulously.

“And—”

“I kissed you! How could you possibly think I’d still have feelings for that jerk?”

Oriana felt a surge of anger, a boiling frustration that left her completely exasperated.

How could someone so adept with machines and intricate coding be utterly clueless in matters of the heart?

Micah, his expression clouded with regret, cautiously reached for her hand again, his eyes downcast. “I’m sorry. I thought that was… a goodbye kiss.”

The last three words tumbled from his lips, weak and pitiful, like a squirrel that had just lost its last acorn.

Oriana was left speechless, her mind racing. Unbelievable. Seriously.

No wonder he had been so stiff and silent; his thought processes were a mystery—absolutely ridiculous.

Micah continued to extend his hand, his gaze filled with a desperate plea for forgiveness.

After taking several deep breaths to steady herself, Oriana finally placed her left hand back into his.

He took hold of it again, this time with a firm grip, as if anchoring himself to her.

In a soft, earnest tone, he confessed, “I was wrong. I won’t think like that again. Because the one you like… is me.”

Regret laced his voice, but beneath it, there was a hint of joy that he couldn’t quite conceal.

How was Oriana supposed to remain angry after that heartfelt admission?

“Hmph. Just wait. I’ll show you exactly what it looks like when I like someone… and when I don’t,” she retorted, her tone playful yet challenging.

Micah smiled, a look of satisfaction crossing his face. “Okay.”

As they settled into the evening, Oriana ordered fried chicken and a cola, while Micah insisted on saving the half-eaten congee for tomorrow, much to her bemusement.

With the soft hum of the dishwasher in the background, Oriana sat cross-legged on the living room rug, engrossed in a variety show, savoring her chicken and soda.

Behind her, Micah had propped one knee on the sofa, skillfully giving her a gentle shoulder massage, applying just the right amount of pressure to help her unwind without interrupting her snacking.

Suddenly, her phone buzzed incessantly, jolting her from her relaxed state. Zara Radcliffe had finally broken her silence and was bombarding her with messages.

“Any juicy updates tonight?”

“Knowing my girl, you should’ve landed him by now, right?”
