**He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen – Chapter 132: Video Call**
Noah shot a sidelong glance at Micah, a smirk dancing on his lips. “You know, you’ve kept so many secrets from her, far more than I ever did—especially about your eyesight. And yet, you have the audacity to point fingers at me?”
Micah’s eyes flickered open, a cold, sharp light flashing within their depths, as if a storm was brewing just beneath the surface.
“You’ve seen enough. Go home. I won’t be walking you out,” he replied, his voice steady, betraying none of the turmoil that churned inside him.
“Seriously? You’re really kicking your grandfather out?” Noah raised his eyebrows in mock disbelief, his tone laced with incredulity.
With a low curse muttered under his breath, Noah suddenly recalled the purpose of his visit. “Leave? Not a chance. I need to call Zephyr. I’ll show him what’s going on. Let him witness how blissfully happy you two are,” he declared, determination lighting up his features.
Without waiting for Micah’s response, Noah pulled up a video call on his phone, a mischievous grin spreading across his face as he handed it to Chubby. “Here you go, take this to your dad and connect with Zephyr.”
Chubby, ever eager to please, accepted the task with a flurry of excitement. He folded his tiny wings around the phone and waddled toward Micah, chirping happily as he moved.
A flicker of understanding crossed Micah’s eyes, a silent acknowledgment of Noah’s intentions. He knew exactly why Noah was there, and so, he chose not to intervene, allowing the moment to unfold.
*****
Inside the sleek conference room of the Research Center, Oscar was passionately detailing the intricacies of the Mountain River Planet model—its functions, permissions, and the framework that held it all together.
Zephyr sat attentively, a look of clear approval etched on his face as he absorbed every word, his mind racing with possibilities.
Halfway through Oscar’s presentation, a secretary approached with a phone in hand. “Mr. Pike, a video call from Noah,” she announced, her tone professional yet slightly breathless.
Zephyr’s brow furrowed slightly, a faint headache beginning to form at the back of his mind. Nevertheless, he accepted the call without hesitation, curious about what Noah had to share.
He anticipated Noah’s familiar face to appear on the screen. Instead, the display lit up with the image of a man so strikingly handsome that it took Zephyr by surprise.
“Micah?” he blurted out, the name escaping his lips before he could stop himself.
Oscar halted mid-sentence, and the rest of the room seemed to pivot in unison, all eyes now glued to the screen.
Jett, having dealt with Grant’s unpredictable nature before, instinctively braced himself. Yet, the concepts that Grant’s team introduced aligned almost perfectly with the center’s vision, leaving Jett in a state of internal conflict.
When he heard Micah’s name, Jett’s face brightened as if he had just seen a ray of hope. “Micah? He must be tuning in despite being under the weather. Such dedication! But honestly, he shouldn’t have to push himself with us here,” he remarked, his voice laced with admiration.
Without a second thought, Jett rushed over, grabbed the data cable, and plugged it into Zephyr’s phone, eager to connect.
In an instant, Micah’s image exploded across the expansive panoramic LCD screen that enveloped the conference room, his face captivating even when magnified.
Jett’s excitement bubbled over, but as he took in the details, he froze, his expression shifting from joy to disbelief. “Uh—Micah, don’t tell me you’re still in bed with your wife?” he stammered, the words tumbling out before he could rein them in.
It wasn’t entirely Jett’s fault; anyone would have jumped to the same conclusion. There was no way Micah would choose those pale-pink sheets on his own—they simply didn’t fit his style.
And then, there it was, unmistakably lying beside him—long strands of hair that belonged to no one else. The clarity of the screen left no room for misinterpretation.
