Luna smiled weakly, careful not to show too much expression in case it aggravated her bruises. “It’s okay, Leo. I’ll be fine by tomorrow.”
Of course, she could never admit that Oriana had slapped her twice–what a humiliating scandal that would be.
“Alright, just be careful. Allergies can be serious,” Leo warned, then added casually, “Did you want me to cancel tonight’s dinner with Ethan?”
“No.” Luna stopped him from reaching for his phone. “Ethan said he had good news to share- I don’t want to ruin everyone’s fun.”
She smiled sweetly, “Grant’s in a bad mood, so he won’t be attending tonight.”
Leo had already seen Arthur’s message in the group chat. He felt a little disappointed. “There’s nothing we can do about work–related issues besides Arthur. Hopefully, Grant will get his emotions under control soon.” 1
“Don’t worry, Leo. Grant’s strong–minded. He’ll bounce back quickly–and I’ll be there with him.”
Luna displayed her affection effortlessly, her voice just loud enough for Oriana to hear.
Leo nodded, playing along. “Yes. You mean a lot to him. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have come to you first thing.”
Luna ground her teeth.
Soon, everyone arrived, and the consultation officially began.
The afternoon flew by in the blink of an eye.
Oriana was grateful she had asked in advance to record the session. Without the voice recorder, her shorthand skills wouldn’t have kept up with the directors and specialists trading verbal blows like swords in the air.
After leaving the hospital, Oriana got into Kieran’s car.
As soon as she spoke, she asked about the morning’s events. “Micah didn’t rest this morning? He still went to the meeting?”
Kieran glanced in the rearview mirror, meeting her calm gaze. He gripped the steering wheel

Oriana was normally so gentle and kind. Why did he feel such invisible pressure right now?
Thinking of Micah as a totally devoted husband, Kieran gave up any pretense. “The meeting was unexpected. Shortly after Mrs. Caldwell left this morning, Noah came by. He set up a video call for Mr. Pike, and he happened to be in the meeting.”
“Micah’s grandfather?”
“Yeah.”
Alright, so she had misunderstood.
Oriana breathed a sigh of relief–good thing she asked in advance, otherwise she would have wronged an innocent person.
As Kieran drove into the residential parking area, Oriana noticed several messages popping up on her phone–from Zara.
One contained a link, followed by a long string of text.
“Oriana, you have to see this! I’m dying laughing. Someone actually hung their bedsheets out on a billion–dollar flat balcony in our Jindiwood community–the one with the best night view -on the internet! And it’s already trending.”
“And get this–the color of their sheets is exactly like yours! Pink–and–blue checkered. What are the odds?”
“By the way, Oriana, which building and floor do you live on?”
Oriana froze.
What kind of weird news was this?
Exhausted from the day, she leaned against the car seat and casually opened Zara’s link.
As soon as she recognized the familiar scenery and the turtle tank partially hidden behind the bedsheets, she was instantly awake–alarmed.
That was clearly her home.
And her bedsheets.
Opening the comments, Oriana felt as if the sky had collapsed.
