My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart novel Chapter 199

**He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen 199**

**Chapter 199: Secrets**

“Wait, are you saying the secret hidden inside is… me?”

Oriana instinctively took a step back, her mind racing as she sought clarity in his words.

“No one else but you,” Micah replied, his voice steady and resolute, each syllable carefully articulated.

“Then why did you lock the door? And this time, why go so far as to shove a cabinet in front of it? Were you really that worried I might uncover the truth?”

A subtle change flickered across Micah’s face, a hint of vulnerability breaking through his usual façade.

He turned his gaze slightly away, a fleeting look of discomfort crossing his features. “The things inside… they’re too embarrassing. I didn’t want you to see them.”

“Ah?”

Oriana froze, momentarily taken aback by his admission. Then, a laugh bubbled up uncontrollably from her lips.

Really? That was the reason?

It truly was!

“Micah, I can’t believe it! You can actually feel embarrassed. I never expected that from you,” she confessed, still giggling at the revelation.

Micah watched her with a mix of amusement and resignation, letting the sound of her laughter wash over him. Finally, he exhaled deeply, a reluctant smile creeping onto his face, as if he were sharing in her light-heartedness despite his earlier discomfort.

He gently lifted the petite woman who had fallen back onto the pillow, her laughter still ringing in the air. “If you’re really curious, I can open it and let you take a look. But Oriana, don’t expect it to be perfect.”

In those last words, she detected a hint of vulnerability, a quiet plea hidden beneath his bravado.

“No, I don’t want to see it. I truly don’t,” Oriana replied, finally catching her breath from the laughter. “Everyone has their own secrets. If you’d rather I not see it, then I won’t pry.”

At her words, Micah felt a wave of relief wash over him, as if a fragile layer of shame had been safeguarded.

“When I was a child, I was seriously ill. I spent a lot of time in dark places. My room had windows and a door, but I wasn’t ready for the light. Grandpa had a small door made for me, so during my worst moments, I could hide inside and feel safe.”

He paused, his gaze drifting into the past, memories swirling in his mind. “Over time, I learned to keep the things that mattered most to me in there.”

His voice softened, revealing a deeper layer of emotion. “After I met you, everything in that little space became about you.”

Oriana’s eyes glistened with empathy, moved by the struggles of his childhood. “And how did Kenny find out about this secret of yours?”

For a brief moment, annoyance flickered across Micah’s expression. “It was during New Year’s. Kenny and his family were staying at the estate. On New Year’s Eve, he came to me, wanting me to watch the fireworks outside. The small door wasn’t properly closed, and he opened it just a crack—just a fleeting glance.”

Micah closed his eyes, pressing his fingers against his forehead as if trying to erase the memory. “I immediately pushed him out and told him not to say anything. I never thought he would remember it and dare to mention it in front of you now.”
