My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart novel Chapter 20

**He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen**
**Chapter 20: Lies**

In the stillness of the room, where the air felt thick with unspoken words, Grant found himself captivated by Zara’s voice, her words echoing in his mind. Each syllable seemed to shift the atmosphere around him, pulling at the threads of his emotions.

His face morphed through a myriad of expressions, each one more conflicted than the last. It was as if he was a canvas, painted with the colors of regret, frustration, and a flicker of hope.

Oriana’s voice cut through the tension. “Alright, get some rest. Goodnight.”

“Goodnight.” As she hung up the phone, she felt the weight of Grant’s grip loosen, allowing her to slip away once again.

This time, he released her completely, but not without a hint of reluctance.

As Oriana moved toward her suitcase, a dull ache radiated from her back, a reminder of the impact of their earlier confrontation. Yet, she masked any sign of discomfort, pulling the suitcase toward the room with determination.

Just as she took a step, Grant’s hand shot out, catching the handle of the suitcase with a gentleness that surprised even him. He accepted the burden, his demeanor noticeably calmer, as if a storm inside him had finally begun to settle.

“Oriana, I-I’m sorry. I acted too impulsively,” Grant admitted, his voice laced with sincerity.

Her response was steady, unwavering. “There’s nothing to apologize for. By your logic, since I handled the charm on my own, we’re even.”

“No, we can’t just be even.” Grant stepped into her path, his eyes revealing a tumult of emotions—confusion, desperation, and a flicker of vulnerability.

He took a deep breath, wrestling with his thoughts, and finally lowered his gaze, as if the weight of his own words had become too heavy to bear.

Gone was the arrogant bravado from moments before. Now, he stood before her with a tentative posture, almost as if he were afraid to break the fragile truce they were attempting to forge.

“You’re right, Oriana. I lied to you, but you trusted me. I never intended to hurt you. I had planned to explain everything properly after the contract was signed. All my efforts over these past three years have always been for Aurora,” he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper.

The corners of his eyes crinkled with a deep yearning, a plea for understanding. “Luna can assist me professionally, but my feelings for her are not comparable to what I feel for you, Oriana. No one can ever take your place in my heart. Please, believe me.”

A small smile tugged at Oriana’s lips, a mixture of warmth and skepticism. “I know. I’ve always trusted you.”

But that trust had come at a price. It was that very trust that had allowed her to be manipulated and played for three long years.

Grant, the same man who had shattered her dreams, crushed her aspirations, and betrayed her feelings, now stood before her, insisting that no one could ever replace her.

Was she truly the only one foolish enough to cling to such a notion?

Though Grant remained unaware of the storm brewing within her, his simple declaration ignited a flicker of hope in him. He clung to the belief that every moment they had shared over the past three years was an unbreakable bond.

“Oriana, I apologize for tonight. I was overwhelmed, consumed by jealousy, and I lost my temper with you. I promise it won’t happen again.”
