**Chapter 223: The Price of a Gallant Heart**
How could this woman still muster the courage to look at him?
She had come to this class reunion, and instead of reconnecting with old friends, she found herself the target of mockery and ridicule, treated like a mere doormat for everyone to step on. And what did she do? She didn’t even fight back!
Meanwhile, Kenny stood off to the side, his fists clenched in frustration, desperately holding himself back from storming in and unleashing his pent-up anger. He felt a surge of protectiveness for Oriana, but he couldn’t act without causing a scene.
Fortunately, his brother, with his usual cleverness, stepped in and resolved the situation with a single, decisive move. If he hadn’t, today would have been nothing but a parade of humiliation for her.
As if that weren’t enough, Oriana had the audacity to ride off and confront someone. Seriously? Did she really think that was a good idea?
Kenny, who had never been on a horse in his life, found himself chasing after her in one of those painfully slow tour carts, watching in frustration as she galloped away, completely out of reach.
From a distance, he witnessed a heart-stopping moment when Oriana nearly toppled into the pond. Time seemed to freeze; his heart raced, and his limbs felt heavy and unresponsive. It was as if the very essence of life had been drained from him in that instant.
But then, he recalled how she had taken control of the horse, how fiercely she had fought to stop Stormwind. A whirlwind of feelings churned within him—confusion, admiration, and something deeper that he didn’t dare to unpack just yet.
Before he could fully process his emotions, he found himself doing something utterly reckless on behalf of his brother.
Turning his back to Oriana, he pulled out his phone and activated the speaker, directing it toward Luna and the others.
Bramwell’s enthusiastic voice echoed through the air. “Luna! Double blessings today! This gentleman just bought Stormwind for three times the price. Go ahead and sign the contract with him, and I’ll pick out an even better racehorse for you from abroad!”
Kenny couldn’t help but puff out his chest with a hint of arrogance. “You heard him. The horse is mine now.”
Luna’s face twisted in disbelief and anger. “Who the hell are you?”
With a flourish, Kenny produced a diamond black card, the kind that screamed privilege. “Cut the crap. Just sign the damn paper.”
A staff member quickly approached, contract in hand, ready to facilitate this unexpected transaction.
Luna, her breath shaky with rage, reluctantly scribbled her signature on the contract.
As soon as he had the document in his possession, Kenny turned and thrust it toward Oriana, his expression a mix of determination and impatience. “Here. It’s yours.”
Oriana blinked in surprise, her gaze darting between the contract and Kenny.
For a moment, she stood there, looking dazed, as if processing what had just happened.
Kenny couldn’t believe she was just standing there, staring at him as if he’d lost his mind. Was she really not going to take it?
Feeling a twinge of annoyance, he shoved the papers into her arms with a hint of urgency. His vibrant rainbow hair bounced as he muttered, “Hurry up and sign. I’ve got things to do.”
Oriana pressed her lips together, her fingers trembling slightly as she reached for the pen.
“Don’t give it to her!”
Without a moment’s thought, Luna lunged forward, intent on tearing the contract apart.
But the staff was quick to react, restraining her before she could cause any further chaos.
