**He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen 225**
**Chapter 225: The Night She Returned**
Even though a faint trace of antiseptic clung to him from his time in the hospital, there was an odd comfort in that scent that Oriana found unexpectedly appealing. It reminded her of the sterile environment where he had been healing, but more importantly, it reminded her of him.
With her head nestled against his shoulder, she gazed up at Micah, her eyes shimmering with a mix of joy and unshed tears. “I missed you,” she confessed, her voice barely above a whisper. “I booked a flight for this afternoon and didn’t change it, because I was terrified you’d find out… and then you’d sneak out of the hospital just to come pick me up.”
A low chuckle escaped Micah’s lips, a sound that sent warmth flooding through her. “You…” he began, his voice trailing off as he took in the sight of her.
“Micah, did you miss me?” she asked, her heart racing in anticipation.
At her question, his expression shifted, becoming more serious, as if the weight of her words had settled upon him like a heavy blanket.
“Yeah. I missed you. So much,” he replied, his voice thick with emotion.
As he spoke, Micah leaned in, pressing soft, lingering kisses along her cheek and ear. Each gentle touch spoke volumes, conveying everything his words could not articulate.
The sensation of his lips against her skin sent delightful shivers down her spine, prompting a soft giggle to escape her lips. Under the silvery glow of the moonlight filtering through the window, her bright eyes sparkled with mischief and affection.
Suddenly, a playful grin spread across her face. “Missed me that much… and all you’re doing is kissing my cheek?” she teased, her voice laced with playful challenge.
Micah froze mid-kiss, caught off guard by her boldness.
That single line ignited a fire within him, a blaze of desire that he could no longer contain. He cupped her face in his hands, drawing her closer as he captured her lips with his own in a kiss that was both passionate and fervent.
So soft, so sweet—those lips were meant for him and him alone.
After only two days apart, Micah’s kiss was imbued with a deeper intensity, fueled by the longing he had kept at bay for far too long. In that moment, every ounce of restraint he had practiced shattered like glass.
For the first time, he kept his eyes wide open, drinking in the sight of her mischievous, sparkling gaze as it slowly morphed into a dazed, tender blur.
He held her tightly, refusing to let go, wanting her to feel just how profoundly he had missed her presence.
“Sir, Mrs. Caldwell… she’s missing,” a voice blurted out, breaking the spell.
Kieran burst into the room without so much as a knock, his urgency palpable.
But the moment he caught sight of the two of them entwined in a heated kiss by the window, he immediately regretted his intrusion.
Panic surged through him. Did Oriana teleport? How did she manage to go from Seabar to Jindiwood overnight without anyone knowing?
As Kieran’s voice registered, Oriana instinctively tried to pull away, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. She wasn’t accustomed to such intimate displays in front of others.
Micah, however, barely budged, still breathless from the kiss. He shot Kieran a glare that could cut through steel. “Out,” he commanded, his voice low and dangerous.
“Yes, sir,” Kieran replied, hastily retreating and shutting the door behind him.
Before leaving, he made sure to hang the “Do Not Disturb” sign outside, fully aware that if he interrupted them again, Micah might just tear down the entire hospital in his frustration.
