Part of me is angry with Axel for telling Conri and Evander about how I had felt about the note and what I had overheard that day, but a bigger part of me is happy it is finally out in the open. It was all a misunderstanding and now we can start thinking about the next Full Moon.

Conri was right when he said the fur of his Lycan was also silver, it is almost identical to Yade’s color and she has been drooling over Conri’s Lycan from the moment we saw him. She can’t talk to them until the Mate- bond is in place, but she really wants to know their names.

“Conri, Yade would like to know the name of your Lycan?” I ask him after we are back on the road again. “My Lycan’s name is Kane and Evander’s Lycan is Mylo.” He answers and I roll my eyes at Yade as she keeps repeating their names in my head.

“Well, not that it would change anything, but it sounds like Yade likes their names. It is the only thing coming from her mouth.” I mumble and Conri chuckles as he pulls me closer to his side. Evander holds on to my hand and for the first time in years I feel at ease.

“Babygirl, wake up.” I hear near my ear and I swat whoever is annoying me, “Ouch, Babygirl. Was that necessary?” I hear after that and I slowly open my eyes to look in Evander’s face, my face reddens as I realize I just hit him. “Sorry, I am not in the best of moods when someone wakes me up.” I whisper.

Axel walks up to the SUV holding a couple of keys in his hands and gives Alexia directions to our cottages as he leans into the window. Council–member Armas booked us a few cottages as he knows this is what my team prefers to be able to keep me safe.

As we make our way to the cottages Boris explains why we stay in cottages instead of in a Hotel, “I think that is actually the best way to protect someone, it gives you more escape routes than a Hotel would.” Conri says and I can tell that Boris feels validated that someone like Conri actually gives him a compliment.

Evander has had his head buried in my neck ever since I smacked him in the face and I actually enjoy having him this close. I can’t believe that this morning I asked my team to be my barrier between me and my Mates and right now I am leaning against Conri with my back while I hold Evander against my chest.

Knowing where she is going makes it easier to follow her, but I decided to take a different route to get to White Horn Pack. My employer is now my former employer as she told me she no longer needed my services and that makes this a lot easier for me.

I don’t have to report to her anymore and that saves me a lot of time. I am going through every note I wrote down ever since I started this assignment, but I don’t find anything new or strange and I know there is a lot my former employer doesn’t know about Umayza.

My reports never stated how good she was at fighting or how she could use just about anything as a weapon, I never mentioned her team worked more like a protection detail. Something told me to keep that information to myself, but to make sure my reports were credible.

I still don’t understand why I kept certain things from my employer, I have never done anything like that before and in my line of work it is not good if anyone finds out about this. I have never done anything illegal in my life, well nothing major anyway.

I gather information from wherever I have to get it from and sometimes it means that I have to break into a place, sometimes it means hacking into a computer. I never hurt anyone physically, nor have I ever killed

I only have one rule and that is that I don’t give information that might endanger someone and there have been assignments I didn’t finish, because I knew what could happen if I gave that information to my employer. It only happened twice, but it was enough to send a message to anyone that wants to hire me for my services.

Does that mean no one ever died because of the information I found? I don’t know, because I don’t ask my employers what they do with the information or why they want the information. Does that mean no one ever got hurt because of it? Again a question I can’t answer.

After I left the Academy this morning I thought about why my employer wanted to know everything about Umayza and I truly believe they don’t want to kill Umayza, but I have a feeling that they will try to take her against her will. Which is something I don’t agree with, everyone should be free to make their own choices.

Umayza is nothing like Wenonah or Calliope and I doubt she would ever use her gift for evil like her Aunt and Grandmother. I think the Council is lucky to have her on their side and she will be able to find answers no one else would ever be able to find.

I hope I will find some answers of my own real soon, because I am starting to doubt my sanity or that of my Wolf for that matter. His protectiveness towards Umayza doesn’t make sense and the fact that he can’t explain it either isn’t helping at all.

I inform the rest of the Squad as to why they stay in cottages instead of a Hotel and Theron agrees with me that that is smart thinking on their end. The cottages are at the back of the terrain and keep parts of the other cottages hidden from anyone observing.

White Horn Pack is a twenty minute drive from here and with the time we have been on the road Captain Armand suggests we wait until morning before going to our destination. Everyone just nods their heads as we exit the vehicles one by one and as Conri lifts her from the SUV Umayza wraps her arms and legs around him.

Her head is nestled into his neck and Conri has a smile on his face I doubt will leave anytime soon. Axel and Theron walk to wards the first cottage to get a lay–out of the cottages at our disposal and how we can best protect Umayza if that turns out to be necessary.

Once they have made their rounds through the cottages Theron tells us to meet in the first cottage and I know that we will be told how this is going to work. Captain Armand trusts Theron when it comes to our security, but will not hesitate to object and overrule his decisions if he thinks it is necessary.

“We will discuss a few things through the mind–link, it is just a precaution. Axel and I doubt there might be trouble around, but better safe than sorry.” Theron says and I see everyone nod. It is a good thing we all work for the Council, because it means we can link each other when we have to.

After she turned down our first invitation I wanted to use the mind–link to ask her why she refused but Conri told me not to do it. He was afraid her anger towards us would get worse and I think it wo if I hadn’t listened to Conri that day.

There have been moments over the past two years we had to convince the other not to use the mind–link and it became more difficult with time. Looking back it might have saved us all a lot of heartache, but talking in hindsight is always a lot easier.
