Chapter 528 It’s A Boy

I wasn’t too happy to hear that Armas send Umayza on an assignment with Captain Armand and his Squadl. but he told me it probably was all a misunderstanding. I hope he is right, because I want my Daughter to be happy and if those two can make her happy I will not stand in their way.

Umayza is all I have left in this world and I will do anything and everything for her. I only had a year with my fated Mate, but it was the best year of my life and I wouldn’t change anything except maybe her death. I still don’t understand why she left that cave and I know I will never find that answer.

I just wish I knew where she was buried, so I could visit her grave from time to time. No one ever reported a female body found in the vicinity of the cave and after I started working for the Council I looked through every report from the period, but I came up empty.

There had been a report on two young females found beaten in an inch of their lives, a report on a female and a baby boy and two reports on males. Not having any answers is eating at me and my Wolf, we feel incomplete and I think it has to do with a lack of answers.

“Gray, can you come to my office?” Armas‘ voice sounds in my head and I am glad he pulled me from my thoughts, I hate it when I start going down that road. Armas hardly ever calls me to his office, unless it is something he doesn’t want anyone else to hear.

I knock on his door to open it without waiting, I know he doesn’t mind and I am really curious as to what he needs from me. I see him sitting in an armchair and I sit down in the one next to him. “Gray, I told you the situation with Umayza and her Mates was based on misunderstandings and I was correct.

They never meant to hurt her, but their Lycans, Kane and Mylo, were getting uncontrollable around her and they thought the note would clarify enough. We both know it didn’t and they are aware of that now as well. The story of their girlfriends was heard out of context.” Armas says and when he tells me what the females had talked about I burst out in laughter.

“Damn, that is so damn wrong and yet so damn funny.” I manage to say and Armas just smiles as Boaz walks in with some coffee. “I am glad they will be able to work everything out, she deserves to be happy.” I say before I take a sip of my coffee.

Armas tells me Captain Armand called him early this morning to inform him about what happened along the way and I laugh again as I hear what Alexia did to Theron, her Mate will have his hands full with her. “Let’s hope they are able to find answers before Calliope finds out where she is.” I mumble.

My phone starts ringing as I take another sip of my coffee and I see it is a videocall from Umayza, I answer it with a smile on my face. “Dad, where are you?” She asks and I wonder why she is asking. “With Council- members Armas and Boaz.” I answer.

She asks me to put my coffee down and once she is satisfied she says, “Dad, I am going to show you something and I want you to tell me the first thing that pops into your head, okay.” I nod my head as my mind is going into overdrive, she slowly turns her phone around and slowly a male’s face comes into view.

My jaw drops as I stare at the young male on the screen of my phone, if I didn’t know any better I would have said I am looking at my baby Brother. I know that can’t be as my parents died decades ago and I had been their only Pup. I tilt my head to the left as I realize he looks familiar, but I can’t put my finger on it.

The phone moves back a little and that is when I see it, I finally see why Umayza is showing this young male to me. I know exactly what word she is expecting me to say and I am not going to disappoint her, “Son.” I say with all the confidence I feel inside me and my Wolf is right there with me.

Armas and Boaz stare at me while Umayza and the young male smile at me and for a moment I just stare at the two of them. “How is this possible?” I ask when I suddenly remember the report and the baby boy and female that were found near the border of a Pack all those years ago.

“She left the cave to protect both of you.” I whisper with tears in my eyes and I ask him for his name. “My name is Orion, Sir.” He answers and I tell him to call me Gray or Dad, because if he ever calls me Sir again I will kick his ass. Orion tells me why Calliope hired him, but he also tells me he never gave her all the information he found and I smile as I realize the truth.

“Your Wolf felt the bond between the two of you and would never allow you to put her in harms way. You may be the younger sibling, but your Wolf will protect her with all he has.” I tell Orion and Umayza after Orion explains he never understood why he kept certain things to himself.

We talk for a while about our lives and I ask him if Maggie would be fine with meeting us, “Ma will be thrilled to meet the two of you. She always tells me that when I find my Father she wants to be able to tell him about my childhood, about the things I did as a young Pup and to show him the pictures she took.” Orion says.

“Good, once this assignment is over we will pay her a visit. I would like to thank the woman that was willing to raise a Pup as her own and to provide for him. Do you know where they buried your Mom?” I ask him. I need to know there is finally a place I can visit my Mate.

“Yes, Mom is buried on Pack terry. My Alpha wanted me to have a place to go to, even though there is no name on it. Ma takes care of it when I am not there and if I am at home I take care of her grave.” Orion answers with tears in his eyes.

I listen to Umayza as she is talking to our Father and I feel anxious the moment she starts turning the phone in my direction, but the moment our eyes connect I know he is my Father. I see all sorts of emotions running through his eyes and I see realization in them the moment Umayza shows him our faces next to one and other.

Jasper is jumping up and down while my heart rate is increasing the moment he says Son, there is no doubt in his voice as he says that word and the anxiety disappears immediately. Ma is going to be so excited when I tell her I found my Father and that I have a twin Sister.

I am glad to hear him say that the choice is up to me on what I want to call him, as long as I don’t call him Sir ever again. I see confusion in his eyes when I tell him that Mom is buried on Pack territory and that Ma looks after her grave when I am not around.

“Ma is the only parent I have ever known, but she knew I wasn’t hers. She didn’t want me to call her Mom as that title belonged to the female that died protecting me, so she chose Ma as an alternative title.” I explain and I see him nodding his head in understanding.

He doesn’t judge me for spying on his Daughter for her so–called Grandmother as he explained that Calliope is Mom’s Aunt, but Wenonah is Mom’s Sister and I don’t like the thought of being related to either one of them. “We may be related to them, but there is no bond between us and them.” Jasper responds.

After we disconnect the call with Dad I ask Umayza if she can explain why she introduced Conri and Evander as her Mates, she tells me about the day they picked her up to be brought to the Council and I growl as I hear about Dolion attacking her.

My jaw drops when she tells me she has the gift of perception, just as Calliope suspected all these years and what she found out the next morning. I am not sure if I should be pissed at Conri and Evander or that it was a good thing that it played out this way.
