My head is spinning with all the questions I have about Umayza’s gift, I had read about Night Shade Pack and asked Boaz a few questions. He answered them all but I got the feeling he was not telling me everything he knew and know I understand why he was careful with what he shared with me.

Umayza is Wenonah’s Niece and Calliope is Wenonah’s Aunt, which makes me wonder if anyone has realized that only one female can give birth to the next female with the gift. Ward pulls me from my thoughts as he puts his hand on my knee, “What are you thinking about?” He asks.

I tell my Mates what had been running through my mind and that I could use their help to find some answers, they know I am going to find answers with or without their help. They will help me go through my Mom’s library for two reasons, they want to find those answer and they love spending time with me.

It had been an issue we dealt with in the first few weeks after I started my studies and we have come to a solution we can all live with. My time with Boaz is just for me, but my homework or reading assignments I do with at least one of my Mates present and that is working really well for us.

Most of the time I do my reading or homework in my Mom’s office in her Quarters, but sometimes I go with them to Alaric’s office when they have work to do that can not wait. It has caused some uptight idiots to cause a scene in front of their King as they didn’t find it becoming a Royal to sit in her Mate’s lap.

It took only two of those incidents to occur for everyone to find out that Alaric was very protective of me and both males had been warned to never act like that again or Alaric would throw them in the dungeons for a very long time. I believe he even said he might lose the key to their cell on purpose.

Eamon asks me which books I need and after I tell him the titles he takes of to our library, this used to be my Mom’s Quarters when she was still living at home. We have been living here ever since Talon, Roger, Ayden and Eva were arrested and it starts to become ours more and more.

The chapter starts with an explanation on the ability, but I already am aware of that as Umayza explained it to us. When I start reading the rest of the chapter I am amazed the more I read, depending on the strength of the female the ability is more powerful.

In most cases a female can read an area going back a week, which for most is more than enough. There are names of Night Shade members with behind their names the estimated time they can read an area, there are a handful that could read an area going back a month and in two cases it was a year.

“Did anyone of you hear how far back Umayza can read a memory?” I ask, but none of my Mates has the answer and I call Armas to get an answer to my question. “Umayza told us she was able to read a memory once that was nearly ten years old, she always thought she had gotten to Bright Moon Pack when she was about a year old.

She had been training her ability for a long time when a memory from their hallway hit her and that is when she found out she moved to the Pack when she was a few weeks old. Gray had been surprised when she confronted him with it, but he told her if anyone had asked her they would never be able to link her to her family.

It is a report from over a hundred years ago, so she could be Calliope’s Mother or maybe her Grandmother. I doubt we will ever find an answer to that unless Umayza can read an area that far back. I am glad she is on our side, she will be able to give me answers and I hope some closure to Ayden.
