A transfer of shares was a major event affecting the entire group; it couldn't be taken lightly.
York was an extremely domineering man to begin with. For Jonathan to transfer his shares without so much as a word was, in essence, a show of disrespect for him as the head of the family. His anger was completely justified.
Stephanie sat quietly at the table, her mind a bit of a blur.
When Jonathan had transferred the shares to her, had the Vasquez family really been completely in the dark?
She had assumed that Ironhold Investment Group’s legal department would have at least reported it to York, the chairman.
It seemed Jonathan had intentionally kept it from him.
Stephanie looked at Jonathan, puzzled.
He must have known that once this came out, York would give him hell. So why did he still do it?
Given Jonathan's usual cunning, he wouldn't typically create such unnecessary trouble for himself.
Silence hung over the living room. No one dared to cross York when he was in this state.
Even Mrs. Vasquez Sr. was too stunned to react immediately.
Under the table, Patricia discreetly kicked Mark.
Mark immediately piped up, “Dad! My brother is being ridiculous! You might as well give all the shares to me! I’ll run the company in the future! I’m sure I’ll do just as good a job as him!”
Hearing this, Cora covered her mouth and let out a snicker.
“Such big words from a little boy who’s still wet behind the ears. Jonathan at least has the skills to manage a company. What do you have? A toy box full of action figures? Or the brute strength to dig in the dirt?”
Mark could tell Cora's words were not complimentary and glared at her fiercely. “You…”
Patricia’s face turned cold. “Cora, my son is still young! When he grows up, he’ll be a great man! He will surely help his father carry his burdens!”
“Is that so…” Cora didn't seem to think so.
