After bidding farewell to the hosts, she prepared to head home.

"So you're Mr. Ferguson's wife?" Celia blocked Claudia's path at the ballroom entrance.

Claudia stopped and nodded.

Celia looked her up and down, her jealousy unconcealed. "Don't think that just because you have a pretty face, you have the right to compete with Ann. The person Mr. Ferguson loves is Ann."

Claudia shook her head. "You're mistaken. My husband and I have known each other for over twenty years. I am, and always will be, the only one he loves."

Celia looked at Claudia as if she were a fool.

She covered her mouth and laughed. "Mrs. Ferguson, why don't you go check the private lounge? See for yourself who your husband is with right now."

A faint smile touched Claudia's lips. "Thank you for the suggestion, Miss Hawk."

So they were upstairs.

Seeing Mr. and Mrs. Lennox speaking with the Grandeur Group matriarch nearby, Claudia adjusted her shawl and walked toward them.

When the ladies saw Claudia, they greeted her warmly.
