York wrapped his arms tightly around Claudia and ordered the driver, "To the Watkins family home."

When Claudia heard he was taking her to her parents' house to get the necklace, she panicked.

She struggled in his lap. "York, I have to work this afternoon! Let me out of the car!"

York held her even tighter, burying his face in her hair.

"If you keep moving," he threatened, "don't blame me for what happens next."

Even though York was acting strangely, Claudia refused to give in. "York, we're divorced! If you dare touch me, I'll have you arrested for rape and make sure you rot in jail!"

York fell silent.

He wanted her. He desired her. But he wasn't depraved enough to force himself on her.

Claudia fought him the entire way, but she couldn't break free from his grasp.

They only stopped when the car pulled up in front of the Watkins' home.

Claudia got out, exhausted.

She had no idea what was wrong with York today, to cause such a scene over a necklace.

As York stepped out of the car, he saw Rock Sayer emerging from the Watkins' front gate, dressed in loungewear.

Rock glanced at his phone, then looked from Claudia to York standing behind her. "Claudia, what are you doing back at this hour? And you brought a guest?"

Claudia glanced back at York, then said to Rock, "It's nothing, I just came back to get something."

"Oh," Rock said. "Your parents went out for a walk. They'll be back soon."

York's face darkened as he heard Rock Sayer speak so familiarly of Claudia's parents and watched him casually walk into the house next door.

He bit back his anger and followed Claudia inside.

She stopped at the entrance. "You can wait here. Don't come in."

York insisted, "I have to verify that it's the necklace I gave you."
