Obedience No More He's the One I Deserved novel Chapter 344

The tent was already set up, and Tara carried over two chairs.

She went back inside, came out with two cups of coffee, and handed one to Dawn.

"This place feels like heaven. If I ever get the chance, I would totally retire somewhere like this. No traffic, no fake smiles at work. Just me, some plants, and quiet days."

As Tara talked, Dawn could practically see the scene.

She laughed softly. "Why wouldn't you get the chance? I'll even come over for dinner every day. Just don't kick me out."

"Then just quit your job."

The more Tara talked, the more tempting it sounded. "Move in with me. If we ever get bored, we can just sell flowers or something."

"That does sound nice, but ... "

She would be leaving soon.

Dawn didn't plan to tell Tara about going abroad.

No point making things sad for no reason; besides, she didn't want Ethan to find out and cause drama.

"You don't want to, huh?"

When Dawn went quiet, Tara faked a pout. "Wow, you're totally ditching me."

"I didn't mean it like that." Dawn gave a helpless smile and tried to calm her down. "I just think it's too early to promise anything. Who knows how we'll feel later?"

Tara pouted, then nodded. "Fair enough. We'll talk about it again in a few years."

They hadn't been sitting long before the delivery came.

Two staff members brought over the grill and got everything ready, and the chill vibe kicked in right away.

Seeing them struggle, Dawn got up to help. Soon, the flames were crackling.

It was her first time grilling outdoors, and she actually found it fun and new.

"Want to give it a try?"

When she didn't say no, one of the staff handed her a clean pair of gloves.

"Just so you know. The smoke smell really sticks. If you don't like that—"

"It's fine. I'll just change later." Dawn smiled, feeling kind of proud about her cooking. "But I might mess up the flavor. Mind teaching me?"

The staff nodded and patiently showed her step by step.

Tara stood nearby, taking photos nonstop.

She didn't even mute her phone, so the shutter kept clicking.

When she tasted the first piece of meat, she couldn't stop saying, "So good, so good!" Her excitement made Dawn more confident, and soon she was totally into grilling.

Tara? Nervous around people?
