We were surrounded by a large fire, and Leland forcefully pushed me away.

“Kay, you need to get out of here now. I’m sorry. If I die, you have to stay strong and take over the Leslie Group.”

I watched as Leland painfully held his stomach, the blood from his abdomen quickly turning his white shirt red.

Fear filled my heart, and a thought swirled in my mind.”Leland, no, you can’t die! Don’t scare me! As long as you don’t die, I forgive you for everything, even hiring those people to kill me. Please don’t die, okay?”

Leland frowned in pain. “I’m sorry. The things between Caitlyn and me aren’t what you think. I… I just didn’t want you to endure the pain of childbirth. I just wanted to…”

I couldn’t hear the rest of Leland’s words as thick smoke rose and the entire ruins caught fire.

I tried to help him up, but I didn’t have enough strength. I shouted loudly, “Help! Help! Leland, don’t scare me. Please, don’t die! I can’t carry the entire Leslie Group on my own. Leland, I can’t leave you here… I just can’t live without you.”

Leland continued to push me.”Get out of here! Go get help. Don’t stay here! Go!”

I was pushed and lost my balance, falling backward. As I was about to get up, Caitlyn rushed over.

She tripped me again, but I ignored everything else and got up. I wouldn’t abandon Leland, so I went to support him.
