Chapter 72

Memi

After hanging up, I turned and went to the basement.

There, I saw all my belongings scattered. Even my suitcase had been thrown there. They had thrown my things here like garbage.

I scoffed coldly, “What’s going on? Seeing that Leroy didn’t kill me, Leland is now finding other ways to get rid of me. He’s not even trying to hide it

anymore.”

Furious, I turned and went to Leland’s room. I kicked the door open and saw Caitlyn feeding Leland medicine.

I smirked, “Leland, what do you think you’re doing? This is my family’s villa and the property deed has my name on it.”

Leland swallowed the pill with a cold, expressionless face and waved Caitlyn away.

Caitlyn smiled slightly and left, closing the door behind her, leaving only Leland and me in the room.

Leland pulled the blanket over himself and looked up at me with a hint of contempt, his eyes colder than I had ever seen.

So what?” Leland’s coldness made me shiver. I guessed he was angry because I hadn’t visited him during his week in the hospital out of spite.

However, he knew I had a miscarriage and also didn’t come to see me.

I took a deep breath, “Leland, you didn’t visit me for a week while I was in the hospital, and now, you’re actually bringing Caitlyn into my house and throwing my luggage into the basement. What are you trying to do?”

My harsh questioning was met with Leland’s cold indifference. He looked at me expressionlessly.”So what? Even if you are the owner of this house, what does it matter? Everyone knows what I have contributed to the Leslie Group. Who would think this villa and the group belong to you?

Besides, you don’t have the ability to run the Leslie Group. Don’t think I don’t know you’ve been leveraging your title as the Perez family’s heiress to slack off for three years in the Design Department. Do you think you can take back all these things from me?”

I stared at Leland in disbelief, feeling like a lump in my throat. Then, in a strained voice, I managed to shout, “Leland, I can’t believe you’ve already become so heartless.”

He remained cold.”So what? Ms. Perez, you are just a puppet of mine. Without me, you can do nothing. Even if I gave the company to you, do you have the capability to run it?”
