Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 184

Linda’s heart pounded in her chest as she listened, anxiety twisting in her gut.

What unsettled her most was Yvonne’s calm, unflinching expression. After weighing her options, Linda muttered something about needing to grab her coffee from the break room. But before she could say much more, her legs gave out beneath her, and she collapsed in a dead faint.

Luckily, paramedics arrived just in time and hurried to tend to her.

“You did great out there. Head back for now—we’ll get to the bottom of this,” Marico turned and, his tone softer than before, tried to reassure Yvonne, who was still bristling with nerves.

“Okay,” Yvonne replied with a nod.

Truth be told, she was rattled. She’d never faced anything like this before.

And she was furious.

With Linda fainted, there was no one left to argue with. All Yvonne could do was wait for the investigation to clear her name.

She walked with her head down, trailing behind Marico.

The more Yvonne thought about being so unfairly accused—twice now—her anger only grew.

Marico led the way, exuding a cool authority that made people instinctively step aside as he passed. He was the picture of composure and power.

Meanwhile, Yvonne followed behind, feeling like a scapegoat. Lost in thought, she didn’t notice when Marico suddenly stopped, and she walked right into his broad back with a soft thud.

Marico paused. “…”

With that kind of impact, it was impossible not to sense just how upset she still was.

“Don’t be angry. I believe you,” Marico said as he turned, his gaze gentle as he looked down at her.

Yvonne rubbed her sore forehead. When she looked up, she met Marico’s deep, steady eyes—full of concern, just as he’d looked at her from the crowd earlier, silently cheering her on when she’d been onstage and overwhelmed.
