Grace scrolled through the Capital Med School forum, her mood getting better and better with every post. The more she read, the more she grinned. Did Lydia really think that just because she scored a perfect ten, she’d be untouchable? That everyone would admire her and she’d be the school’s golden girl? Please. If only she could see how many people were dragging her name through the mud right now.
She totally deserved it, too. She’s so arrogant, acting like she was better than everyone else. Grace hoped people from every school would pile on and ruin Lydia’s reputation for good.
She had another plan, too. This time, she was going to stir up drama about Lydia and her instructor. If Connor liked Lydia so much, maybe he should see for himself how easily she flirted with other men. And Grandpa Samuel wanted Lydia to marry into the Jefferson family, right? He was so blind. He had Lucinda right in front of him and still chose Lydia, who was nothing special.
Grace had waited so long for this. Finally, she could sit back and watch everything blow up in Lydia’s face.
But then she paused. Something about Lydia’s supposed instructor, the one in all the rumors, seemed familiar. Grace stared at Jay’s face in a photo, squinting and trying to remember where she’d seen him before. No matter how much she tried, she just couldn’t place it.
Whatever. It didn’t matter. Lydia was acting out of line, cozying up to her instructor and crossing boundaries. This was a perfect chance for everyone to see her for who she really was.
Right as Grace was thinking this, Lucinda’s message popped up. Grace opened it and couldn’t help but smile even wider. She typed back quickly: [Just watch. The real show is just starting. Lydia is out here showing off her status as Connor’s fiancée while messing around with her instructor. She’s basically digging her own grave.]
