Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 634

This remark immediately displeased Chairman Harper.

After all these years, there was no one he had ever feared. He had always thought his daughter was bold and straightforward, but now she seemed more timid than before.

Irene knew her father had misunderstood. She quickly explained, "Dad, I know what I'm doing. I just need your support—that's all I ask. You have no idea how cunning and ruthless that Ariana is." She then recounted everything Georgia had told her and added, "People like her are the most vicious. Dad, I know you love me, but I don’t want you to get hurt either. Even if the chances are slim, I don’t want to risk it. I already have a plan—just stand by me when the time comes."

Seeing the hopeful look in his daughter’s eyes, Chairman Harper sighed, furrowed his brows, and finally relented. "Fine. After all, your happiness is something you have to fight for yourself."

Though his daughter appeared delicate and no different from other socialites, she was still the child of Kendra and himself—she was bound to be extraordinary.

He wouldn’t be around forever, and the road ahead was hers to walk. If she couldn’t even fight for her own marital happiness, then she would only prove herself weak. With that thought, Chairman Harper stopped insisting. Softening his tone, he said, "Just be careful. If anything happens, remember to tell your father."

Irene nodded eagerly, her eyes crinkling with joy. "Thank you, Dad. Mom’s never been as good to me as you are."

The first half of her words pleased him, but the latter half made his expression turn stern. He sighed and looked at her seriously. "Irene, your mother loves you too—she just doesn’t know how to show it. You can’t blame her, understand?"

Irene had known since childhood how much her father adored her mother, so she could only pout and mutter, "I understand."

Chairman Harper visibly relaxed.

With her father’s support secured, Irene was in high spirits. She didn’t mind humoring him a little—after all, once he was on board, her plan was one step closer to success. Soon, her mother would likely agree as well. As long as Ariana was dealt with, nothing else would stand in her way.

At the thought, Irene couldn’t help but narrow her eyes in satisfaction.

She hoped everything would unfold smoothly, just as she had planned. No matter how capable Ariana was, she wouldn’t stand a chance against such overwhelming power.

In other words, status could render everything else irrelevant.

Even if Ariana were the most formidable woman alive, without a powerful family backing her, she would ultimately face a bleak and lonely fate.

The mere thought of reclaiming Lambert and returning to the past sent Irene's heart racing so violently that her cheeks flushed with excitement.

Watching his daughter's reaction, Chairman Harper couldn't help but chuckle wryly to himself.

*Ah, this child—so smitten with love that she forgets her own father.*

...

Meanwhile, things weren’t going smoothly for Ariana either.

Perhaps due to emotional stress, this pregnancy was far more taxing than her previous ones. She suffered from relentless nausea and vomiting almost daily.

Lambert’s brow remained perpetually furrowed with worry.

If not for fear of upsetting Ariana, he might have even considered terminating the pregnancy.

Old Mrs. Stone found it peculiar, too, though she knew pregnancy symptoms varied wildly among women. While Ariana’s condition was common for many expectant mothers, what baffled them was how drastically different it was from her prior pregnancies—especially since she’d carried the last three with relative ease.

The old lady sighed. "Perhaps it’s because she’s given birth twice already, the last time being twins. Her body must be exhausted."

Ariana had been fortunate—both deliveries had been natural.

'Was it Beibei, reborn in her womb?'

She knew it was just her imagination running wild, yet the desire to hold onto this child was undeniable.

The old woman sighed, her heart aching for her suffering granddaughter-in-law.

From then on, Lambert took over Ariana’s care entirely. Not even Old Mr. Stone’s visible disapproval could deter him. The old man knew better than to try controlling his stubborn grandson, so he simply let it be.

Fortunately, Ariana’s condition gradually stabilized—at least the relentless vomiting subsided.

Only then did Lambert allow himself to relax a little.

The doctor had told him the choice was theirs—the baby was healthy so far, and the final decision lay with them.

Seeing Ariana in such distress, he naturally wanted to leave. But Ariana stubbornly refused, insisting on keeping the baby. So even though Lambert was torn with anguish and frustration, he could only watch helplessly as Ariana grew thinner by the day.

The White family, of course, was aware of Ariana's pregnancy.

When Gilbert flew back from abroad and heard the news, he was overjoyed. Without resting long, he rushed straight to his daughter's hospital.

Upon arriving, he found Ariana lying quietly in bed, resting.

Gilbert gazed at his frail, pale daughter and hesitated, on the verge of leaving. But just then, Ariana seemed to stir at the sound of footsteps. Slowly, her eyes fluttered open—and there stood her father, who had just entered, setting down his things, uncertain whether to stay or go.
