Reborn to Marry My Best Friend's Uncle novel Chapter 14

Suzanna popped up on the screen, her face still dewy from a spa session.

She asked worriedly, "Ann, have you really moved out? How's it going? Are you settling in okay?"

"Yeah, I'm settling in just fine."

Annie smiled lightly, keeping her job-hunting problems to herself.

"That's good. Don't pay any attention to the nonsense online. Just focus on living your own life," Suzanna said before remembering something. "By the way, how's the job search going? Want me to ask around for you?"

"No, thanks," Annie politely declined.

She didn't want to rely on anyone anymore. "I'm planning a different approach."

Annie then laid out her plan clearly. "There's a fashion design contest in Jynston happening in a month. I'm going to find a small company to sign me on officially just to get eligibility to participate for now."

Her goal was to stand out in the contest and take things step by step from there. This was the fastest way she could think of to get back into the industry.

Suzanna was immediately supportive of this.

"That's a great idea! With how talented you are, you'll definitely make a splash! You'll totally blind that disgusting couple with your brilliance!"

After hanging up, Annie felt her motivation reignite.

To get into even a small company, she needed a portfolio she could be proud of.

Hence, she locked herself in the apartment and worked day and night on her designs.

Engrossed in her work, she went without sleep or food, only noticing at dawn that she'd gone another full day without food.

That day, she finally put together her brand-new portfolio and sent it to several companies.

Once it was over and her nerves eased, a sudden, intense cramp gripped her stomach.

She rushed to the bathroom, vomiting violently. Three bouts of vomiting later, all that was left in her stomach was acid.

Annie leaned against the wall as she got up, her face pale as a sheet.

Her old stomach problem had flared up again. She couldn't push herself anymore.

She wanted to go to a nearby pharmacy for some medicine, but she felt extremely weak from dehydration.

Annie barely reached the front door when her vision went black, and she collapsed.

Just before losing consciousness, she vaguely heard the sound of a keypad being pressed.

Then, a tall figure moved swiftly toward her against the light.

That person sounded worried, anxious in a way she had never heard before.

"Ann!"
