Annie was taken aback by the words "Mr. Frost" and wondered if it was Sean.
No, that wasn't possible.
Jynston was huge, and there were plenty of wealthy heirs with the last name Frost, so it didn't have to be him.
She forced herself to stay calm, but the feeling of dread in her chest only grew heavier.
Roxanne didn't notice her odd behavior and continued, "It's just a routine visit, but since they're investors, make sure you're prepared for tomorrow. Nothing can go wrong."
Annie lowered her gaze and hid the turmoil in her eyes. She replied, "Alright. I understand."
After leaving the office, she returned to her desk. Once she took her seat, Abigail leaned over with a grin and exclaimed, "Congratulations, Annie! I knew Ms. Hudson would pick you!"
As other colleagues glanced over with warm, congratulatory smiles, the whole studio felt light and cheerful. But Annie couldn't bring herself to smile at all. All she could do was force a polite curve of her lips in response.
Suddenly, her phone buzzed in her pocket. When she took it out to check, she noticed it was a message from Suzanna.
"You traitor! How dare you ditch your bestie for a man? Your punishment is to buy me dinner tonight!"
It was followed by an angry, puff-cheeked emoji.
Seeing Suzanna's playful complaint, the tension in Annie's nerves finally eased a little. A genuine smile touched her lips as her fingers flew across the screen and quickly typed.
"Fine. Fancy dinner's on me tonight. You pick the place."
Just after she tapped on the send button, a heart emoji popped up in the chatbox. "That's more like it! Love you!"
Looking at the screen, Annie couldn't help but laugh softly.
