Veronica sighed. "I did think that it was weird that she had such a strong hold over the Silver Dawn pack. But I never thought that she was hiding such a thing."
Dominic moved closer. His face was taut with barely contained rage as his eyes continued to flicker left and right. "Just what is going on? Who was the one who did this? Who is this witch that you keep talking about?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
The witch who was the creator of the dark magic in this world, the one who could create numerous vessels and split her souls to hide them into these vessels. A witch who had enough power to stand as her rival but she used it all up in wilful magic spells all because of a man. Losing her mind to love had caused Morga to lose all the finesse in her magical powers.
She was desperate and chaotic. Someone who didn’t care how many lives she had to take before she could get what she wanted and desired and Tracy had a very good idea what Morga desired.
But she couldn’t tell that to Dominic.
Because it sounded pathetic no matter how she tried to make it sound grand.
"Someone stupid."
After she finished speaking, Tracy ignored the twisted expression of the man behind her and then slowly made her way to the many arrays that were scattered in the room. The more she looked at them, the more her rage bubbled within her. She raised her hand and channelled her anger to her fingertips before letting her aether. She didn’t want to do it either but honestly, after all this, they kind of deserved it.
Boom.
The sound of the spell hitting the arrays echoed inside the dome structure and a second later, the arrays lit up with fire. Blood red and stained with the scent of rot and decay. It cackled and hissed. It slowly started to clear up the traces of the dark magic that was left behind by the owner of this labyrinth. The magic was old and too deeply ingrained but still it wasn’t something that she couldn’t clean.
Veronica flinched as she took several steps back, as if she were worried that if she were not quick enough, she would be the next to be incinerated. Her red eyes went wide, and she stared at the roaring fire with a dazed expression on her face.
Dominic stayed where he was but his eyes were filled with a newfound terror that Tracy had not seen before and Finn? The poor guy looked like he was going to pass out. He took three hasty steps away from the nearest wall and looked at her as if she were a monster. Not a surprise there; many people had the same look in their eyes once they got to know about her and her powers.
And did that make her feel upset? Not at all. She felt thrilled at the thought of being the subject of their terror.
"Leave," she told the wolves and shifters behind her. Her voice was jagged with fury as she stared at the raging fire. "Don’t look back once you have left this place."
"But–" The lycan beta started speaking.
"You will be nothing but a burden even if you stay here with me," Tracy interrupted him before he could finish off his sentence. "This place is going to be filled with so much aether that you will end up falling sick from it. You better turn around and leave when you still have time or else you all will be driven crazy and I am not going to take responsibility for that."
What she was going to do was to free the souls stuck inside these arrays before their essence could be swallowed whole. Fortunately, it was a lengthy process and usually the souls of the poor innocent people could stay intact for more than three to four days.
"I am going to wipe every trace of magic from here, which means that this is your chance to get the hell out of here."
