"I don't like him," Christina muttered repeatedly to herself after Nathan had left.
She had insisted that she doesn't like him that way but Nathan had refused to believe her. To make matters worse, he left because according to him, he needed space to clear his head, whatever that means.
Sure, Max was kind and caring but that wasn't enough grounds to like someone or was it? She only saw him as a friend and nothing more. He was still trying to get into her good graces and that's it.
The possibility of liking someone like him was low. Way too low especially for someone like her. She would never even dream of it.
Nathan was just talking rubbish. He might be saying all those things because he was angry at her. He of all people should know how much she despises Max.
They were miles apart and different from each other.
She'd just have to find a way to make it up to Nathan and apologize for not replying his texts and hopefully, all of this would be sorted out.
Just as she was about the settle down, her phone rang and she immediately reached out for it. It was Hera.
"Hi Hera," She greeted, her voice stuck in her throat. Christina didn't know why she was feeling a little scared. Max had already handled everything. At least, that's what he told her.
"Are you back home?" Hera asked, "I just wanted to confirm because I'm worried. I wanted to make sure that you're alright."
Christina chuckled. Her sister was so cute whenever she was bothered about something.
"I'm alright Hera and if it makes you feel better then I'm happy to tell you that I'm also back home safely too."
Christina heard her sister sigh from the other end of the line. "That's a relief."
"I know that Max wouldn't let anything happen to you but I just got so worried because we haven't talked." Hera explained hoping that her sister wouldn't think otherwise.
"It's okay Hera, I'm glad you called." Christina assured her. "I planned to call when I settled in fully but it's okay."
"Did Max leave already?"
"Yeah," Christina answered as she made her way into the kitchen. "He left a while ago after dropping me off."
"I'm so glad that you two are finally getting used to each other." Hera said, "I was worried that you wouldn't be able to tolerate each other at all."
Christina shrugged as though Hera could see her. She knew that her sister's worries were spot on cause even for the longest time, she also believed that they would never tolerate each other but here they are.
"Well, you were right." Christina started, her mind drifting back to the conversation that they had earlier in his car.
"Max is not a bad person." She added, "I wasn't used to him when I first arrived but it all worked out fine in the end."
"That's good to hear." Hera sighed in content. "He might be a little different from Bryce but they're almost the same. I call them two peas in a pod." She said and they burst out laughing.
Even without Hera saying it, Christina had come to realize that it was the truth. Once she started hanging out with him, she noticed that she might've been wrong about him.
"He's a great person and one of my good friend that I have come to cherish as well." Hera added while Christina remained silent.
"Urm...Hera?" Christina called out after sucking in a deep breath. "Can I ask your permission for something important?"
"Of course. What is it?"
"You see," She started, not knowing where to begin. "My class will be going on a trip this weekend and I wanted to ask if it's okay that I attend?"
Christina felt guilty after saying that. This would probably be the last time that she was lying to her sister. She has never done it before and as much as she wanted to feel guilty about it, she almost didn't.
"Where exactly would you be going?"
