At Donovan’s birthday party last time, Claudia ran into her again and brought it up once more.
Of course, it was because Claudia had only found out because Mandy was so excited–turns out Mandy had invested in that company herself.
But Mandy knew her limits. If the event wasn’t interesting, she wouldn’t have bothered asking Claudia to come.
Anyway, it was just for fun. Mandy made it clear that if Claudia got bored, she could just leave, no problem.
Counting the days, it was about ten days away.
Claudia touched her chin. “Sure, why not.”
Sterling hadn’t taken a break for a while either, so going to relax a bit wouldn’t be bad.
Claudia had just finished a business proposal for a gaming company, so she had some free time. After agreeing to go, she saw him shamelessly acting cute and begging her to go to his office too. She decided to spoil him this once and deal with him later that night.
While the couple walked into work holding hands, the boss was in a good mood, and everyone at the Romero Corp building felt happy vibes. But over at the Fenton Group, the atmosphere was tense because of an unexpected visitor.
Lydia had been stuck in the hospital for days and was getting restless because she couldn’t reach Jasper.
Now that her injury hurt less, she decided to leave the hospital and find him.
She knew Jasper well. If she didn’t contact him for too long, he would just get colder.
She didn’t dare go straight to Fenton Residence. Tybalt and Sylvia didn’t like her, and meeting them would definitely bring sarcastic remarks.
Also, with Sylvia around, she wasn’t sure Jasper would be so easy to deal with.
After thinking it over, she decided to go to the company anyway.
The receptionist recognized Lydia. She used to visit a lot, looking for Jasper, and people said she might be the Fentons‘ future daughter–in–law.

Things hadn’t been going well at Fenton Group lately. After several rounds of layoffs, everyone was tense, and even the secretaries in the CEO’s office weren’t paying much attention.
That’s how Lydia, an outsider, could walk right in and push open the CEO’s office door.
On the couch behind the desk, a woman was sitting on top of a man in a messy suit, kissing him passionately.
Seeing the scene, Lydia’s eyes went wide. She couldn’t believe it. “Jasper?!”
up
The two jumped apart in shock. The woman, wearing a fancy business outfit, stood and hurriedly tried to button her blouse.
The man finally revealed his face, still marked with red lipstick. When he saw Lydia, he calmly wiped his face and smirked at the shocked Lydia.
“Ms. Wallace, I didn’t know you liked watching people get intimate,” he said.
Lydia didn’t know how to feel.
She wasn’t sure what was worse–seeing Jasper with another woman at the office, or realizing it wasn’t Jasper at all, and that the CEO of Fenton Group had changed.
The woman hurried out after William waved her off. Lydia hesitated but still walked into the office.
William stood up, poured her a glass of water, and leaned in close as Lydia nervously sat down on the couch.
“What? Didn’t you know that Jasper already left Fenton Group?”
Actually, Tybalt had taken away his CEO position, and then William pushed him out completely.
Lydia squeezed her hands into fists.
She suddenly remembered what Jasper had said at Lottie’s birthday party–Tybalt wanted to give Fenton Group to William, his illegitimate son.
Had things really gotten this far?
“Ms. Wallace, since you used to be Jasper’s fiancée, you didn’t rush in to demand justice for him. Instead, you’re brave enough to sit here and talk with me. Smart move. I like that.”
