She Got Crown, I Got Cremated novel Chapter 4

Chapter 4

The video showed my body.

White dress drenched in blood. My face-slashed up so bad, it wasn’t even mine anymore.

I looked away. Couldn’t handle it. But the internet? Who knows how many had already seen it.

The staff’s jaw tightened. “This is raw footage, Mr. Blenman. You were her fiancé. You should know her better than anyone. Do you believe it now?”

Jeff’s face twitched. He looked away fast, like he couldn’t stomach it. “Her face is wrecked. How can you even tell it’s her? And those wounds? Looks staged. You think a video’s enough proof?

“Sienna loved life. If something really happened, I’d be the first to know. She’d have called. But she didn’t.

“Tell her to knock it off. I’ll let it slide, but if this keeps going? Wedding’s off. My family’s not marrying some jealous freak.”

Frank’s eyes stayed locked on the screen. Something shifted in him. His voice was flat, like he was swallowing glass. “Yeah. Tell her to stop. This just makes us hate her more. If she shows now, I’ll forget it. We can still be friends.”

He clenched his jaw. “If not… we’re done.”

I gave a bitter smile.

So this is what it feels like-trying to prove you’re real to people who already decided you’re not.

Jeff and Frank didn’t believe I was dead.

They honestly thought I’d teamed up with the cops and a whole crematorium to prank them.

But I was just… me. Just a girl. How could I pull off something like that?

They came in pissed. Left the same way.

I stared at the ashes on the floor, now mixed with dirt and dust. Something inside me cracked wide open, and the cold just poured in.

Even the last piece of me left in this world-trashed.

That video, as raw and brutal as it was, didn’t move them at all.

The next day was Lulu’s birthday.

Jeff showed up like he was headed to his own wedding-tailored suit, tie on point.

Frank, Mr. No-Product-Ever, actually let a stylist go wild with his hair. Hairspray and everything.

Lulu rocked a full-on princess dress, standing between her two so-called knights.

Pop!

Confetti rained down.

She gasped, hands flying to her mouth, eyes lit like she just stepped into a Disney dream.

Jeff beamed, pulled out the flower crown he made yesterday, and set it on her head like he was crowning a queen.

He used to say only I could wear his crowns.
