She Got Crown, I Got Cremated novel Chapter 8

Chapter 8

Bang.

Frank staggered back, clutching his nose, head spinning.

Before he could react, Jeff grabbed his collar and started swinging-hard.

Years of bottled-up hate exploded. Every punch landed like it meant something. No holding back.

“Sienna was my fiancée, Frank! She CHOSE me! You should’ve stayed out of it instead of slithering around like some wannabe hero!”

Frank snarled through the blood. “Oh, now she’s your fiancée? Where was that energy when Lulu showed up and you ditched her like trash? I’ve BEEN waiting to knock you out.”

I backed into a corner, silent, watching them beat each other to a pulp.

By the end, Jeff was slumped in the doorway. Frank leaned against the wall, breathing hard.

Neither had anything left.

Frank wiped the blood off his nose, breathing hard. Head tilted back, he stared at Jeff. “Why didn’t you cherish her?”

Like he was asking Jeff-but maybe asking himself, too.

Jeff leaned on one knee, sweat dripping down, bruises starting to bloom.

He let out a bitter laugh. “I thought… she liked you.”

Frank narrowed his eyes.

Jeff didn’t flinch. “That day on the stairs-I saw you kiss her. She didn’t push you away.”

Frank paused, then let out this low, bitter laugh.

And I got it-he hadn’t kissed me that day. He was pushing me away. Telling me to leave his life.

Jeff must’ve seen it all wrong. From the wrong angle, wrong moment.

No wonder he didn’t come with me when I moved out. It was all just a messed-up misunderstanding.

But the truth? I only ever loved Jeff.

Frank laughed harder, his whole body shaking as tears slid down his cheeks.

“What a joke.”

He stared at the ceiling, like the past was playing out above him.

After a long pause, he said, “I knew you were petty. That day, I was done-I was trying to walk away from both of you. So I said something messed up to Sienna. Told her I’d found the only girl I wanted to treat right-said it was Lulu.

“I gave Lulu attention, but then you-YOU-started treating her like gold too. Why, Jett? What were you trying to do?”

Silence.

Jeff blinked, stunned. “I… I was trying to let you have Sienna.”

He thought playing the bigger person was noble-turns out, that’s what lit the fuse.

Classic Jeff. Once he locked in, good luck changing his mind.

He missed every red flag-Frank pulling away, me never once glancing back.

Jeff had it twisted, thought Frank and I were some star-crossed mess, and he was the third wheel.

Like I stayed with him out of pity or something.

But real talk? We got together after one wild night.

Only, I wasn’t wasted.

I knew exactly who he was. I heard his confession, loud and clear.

And I said yes.

Figured he knew that.
