Chapter 119

Alcee watched with curiosity as a man was escorted into Torg’s office by Genevra, accompanied by Bastiano and Tito. His eyes fleetingly looked at her, but his gaze immediately chased for Torq. She moved off Torq’s lap to allow him to stand to greet his brother.

She was surprised by the emotional way Raniero moved to Torg and flung his arm

Raniero whispered softly, the words barely audible in the quiet of the room.

“We did it.” Torq responded gruffly, his eyes closed as he returned the hug

Alcee was surprised by how much emotion was being expressed by the two men.

The only unhappy one was my mother, and it is only because she knows her support payments have come to an end.” Raniero grabbed Torq’s hand and made a show of kissing his ring. “You are forever my Don, my big brother. I am grateful and proud of you.”

Alcer watched in stunned disbelief as Torquato “The Grizzly” Lozano pressed a gentle kiss to his brother’s forehead and whispered, “thank you brother.”

They looked nothing alike. If anyone put these two men in a room full of strangers and asked someone to pick out the siblings they’d be hard pressed. Torq’s eyes were a warm honey color, almost amber. Raniero’s were a deep shade of brown. Torq’s skin was a golden bronze color as if he’d spent his entire life in the sunshine, his hair nearly black. Raniero’s hair was far lighter, his skin tone peachy, though still sun kissed. Torg’s jawline was chiseled, sharp and angular and Raniero’s was rounded, softer features and almost delicate looking. While both men appeared fit and strong, their builds however were their biggest differences. Torq was a monster of a man and Raniero likely barely was six feet in height. In fact, of all the men in the room currently he was the shortest.

What couldn’t be missed though was how much these brother’s loved one another. Alcee hadn’t expected Torq to be so deeply moved by his brother’s appearance and hug he was showing telltale signs of his emotions. A man he’d not mentioned to her even once was someone who clearly meant a lot to him.

As the two men separated, she felt all eyes on suddenly shift to her.

Raniero moved to her, and looked at Torq, “this is her?”

Raniero smiled and took her hand and kissed her fingers, “Donna, it is nice to meet you finally. I have heard so much about Torq’s Aya. You are even lovelier than he described.”

“Thank you. It is nice to meet you.”

“He didn’t tell you a thing about me, huh?”

“I am the Lozano best kept secret. I don’t even bear the family name. I was given my mother’s name at birth, which isn’t uncommon in many European countries, unless you’re from a syndicate family where name is everything.”

“Don’t let him fool you, Alcre. I tried many times to get him to change his name, and he refuses.”

“There is only one man I will change my name for,” Raniero said bluntly.

“Do not start,” Bastiano warned from his spot on the sofa where he’d flung himself down in exhaustion.

“Why do you look so tired?” Alcee asked him.

“Because my lover made it clear he was not going to live with my sister and instead of sleeping off the exhaustion of the last two weeks or so I spent an entire day helping the contractors get Geneva’s condo ready for her.”

She looked at Bastiano in surprise. “I thought she said she was going to Italy.”

Bastiano frowned at her, “she is not going to Italy. She is waiting for you to set up her auction site.”

She bounced, “really? We haven’t had a chance to discuss it yet. I really get to help her with this?”
