They always got generous bonuses whenever payday rolled around.
When the lunch bell rang and school let out, Stella came looking for Sabrina.
The moment she walked in, she caught sight of Frank’s hair—styled up like a flamboyant rooster—and burst into laughter, nearly doubling over.
“Frank, seriously, what’s gotten into you? Why would you do this to yourself? Oh my God, I can’t—this is killing me!” she managed between giggles.
Frank snatched up a textbook and pretended to throw it at her. “You just don’t get it. This is called being ahead of the fashion curve. Clearly, you have no taste!”
Stella sauntered further into the room, still chuckling. “Oh, absolutely, your hairstyle is out of this world. I’m not even worthy—my deepest respect!” She even gave a theatrical bow, hands clasped in exaggerated admiration.
Stella had always thought her own taste in fashion was pretty wild, but Frank had clearly outdone her.
She couldn’t be bothered to keep teasing him and made her way over to Sabrina.
Growing up in Crowncrest City, Stella and Frank had known each other forever. The two were like old friends, always trading jabs.
“Sabrina, I’ve got to tell you something. Next month, Hyatt Holcomb is doing a concert! Let’s go together, okay?”
Hyatt.
He was the hottest pop star around.
Honestly, he was the superstar of Veridia—singing, dancing, playing piano, acting, hosting—there was nothing he couldn’t do.
A true talent.
He wrote his own lyrics, composed his own music, even directed and starred in his own movies. His name was famous all over the world.
But what he loved most was still singing, dancing, and playing the piano.
Sabrina had never really been into celebrity worship. If she ever wanted to check out a concert, she figured she could just watch it on her phone—there would always be a live stream or fans posting videos.
But for a superfan like Stella, there was no way she’d let an opportunity like this slip by.
“Come on, just go with me! I promise, once you see him live, you’ll be totally hooked.”
Stella kept pleading, and Sabrina almost refused—but the words caught in her throat.
