Morgan's POV:
I think Sabrina was sent from the pits of hell to frustrate my life and drive me to an early grave.
"You did what?!" My voice rang out. I'm sure everybody in the office building heard my scream.
The culprit sat in front of me, swinging her chair back and forth, a calm smile on her lips.
"Morgan dear, there's no need for you to shout so much." She said, a hint of disapproval in her tone.
"There's no need to shout?!" I felt like pulling my hair out of my scalp. "Do you have any idea what you've just done?! it's been two days Sabrina. Two days since you came here and all you've done is mess things up for me!"
"Mess things up?" She laughed like I had said the joke of the century. "I made a decision that was the way forward for this company. How is that messing things up?"
"A decision?! What's makes you think you can make decisions for this company?!"
"Morgan you're raising your voice. Lower your tone, we're still at the office."
"You don't understand what you just did, Sabrina! How could you!"
"What's going on here?"
We turned to the door. Father walked in, his eyes full of confusion as he looked at the both of us.
"Did you know about this?" I asked, turning my full attention to him.
"Know about what?"
"That she sighed the deal with Fontaine?!"
Father looked lost for a second then smiled. "Ah, yes. Why did you delay signing it for so long? We were on the verge of losing the deal."
"Are you joking?!" I exploded. "You know about this?!"
"Morgan dear, keep your voice low."
"Don't tell me that dad! I told you, I can't work with Dante! You know why I can't! Why...how could you?! Why did she even sign it?!"
"You know Mr Fontaine?" Sabrina asked.
"I swear to God if you talk one more time!"
My dad grabbed my wrists. "That's enough, don't speak to your sister like that."
"Let me go!"
"No! Not until you calm down and we have a conversation like three mature adults that we are!"
It took everything in my power not to glare at my father right now. "Talk about what huh? I'm the CEO of this company. I make the decisions here."
"Erm...that's not exactly what's happening here, dear."
My heart sank. "What...what do you mean?"
Dad cleared his throat, a fleeting look of discomfort flashed across his face. "Sabrina is also my heir."
It felt like my lungs collapsed inside my chest. I couldn't breathe. I could only stare at him with wide eyes of shock.
"What?" I whispered. "You're....but you..."
"She's my daughter too, just as you are." He said with a sad smile. "For a while now she wasn't interested in the company, but that didn't mean she wasn't welcomed."
I scoffed. "Really? "
"Dante," I hissed through clenched teeth. "What are you doing here?"
He looked behind me at my dad and Sabrina and tipped his head in a subtle greeting.
"Why, I'm excited to be working with you today," He looked down at me, his eyes flitted to my lips and back to my eyes. "I'd say we get started right away."
He snapped his fingers and a guy came rushing into the office. He had an ipad close to his chest and he was breathing heavily. He readjusted his glasses and extended his hand for a handshake.
"Good morning Miss Rosewood. I'm a huge fan of your work. it's finally good to meet you in person."
I shook his hand and nodded. "Hello." I turned back to Dante. "what is all this about?"
"He's Jackson, my assistant." Dante said. "He's here for me, don't worry. He'll stay out of your hair."
"But you won't?" I snapped.
He looked down at my lips again and smiled to himself. "Come on now, Morgan." He said and looked behind me. "We have an awful lot to get done."
"We don't..." I started to protest but he brushed past me and walked over to my father.
"Mr Rosewood! You look splendid this morning."
"Flattery will get you no where, Fontaine." Dad said but he smiled and shook Dante's hand. "This is my daughter, Sabrina. Sabrina, this is Dante Fontaine. Our new investor."
Sabrina rose to feet an flashed a smile so bright it could light up a small town. "Mr Fontaine. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"The pleasure is all mine," Dante said.
He didn't shake her hand.
