Chapter 1006
Scott’s assistant trailed off, but Scott needed no further explanation. If this continued, the Kalen family would turn Marcentine into a smoldering mess-and offend countless powerful clans in the process.
Scott clenched his phone so tightly his knuckles went white, a cold fury rising in his features. He ground his teeth. “Sharon, you’re unbelievable.”
“What’s wrong?” Rick frowned.
Scott repeated the assistant’s report to the room. The reaction was immediate and ugly.
Sharon actually dared to stir up trouble in Marcentine. Was she out of her mind?
Silas slammed his palm onto the table.
“She’s doing this on purpose! To spite us, she rammed cars belonging to other great families. She didn’t care if people lived or died. How vicious!”
The Kalen family prided itself on its standing and reputation in elite circles. But since Sharon returned, she’d first exposed Victoria and then deliberately caused chaos-directly drawing the ire of other houses. It reeked of malice.
Rick’s eyelids fluttered with agitation. Even without seeing the scene, he could picture the
chaos outside. He knew people would come demanding answers.
He turned to Richard. “If we let Sharon keep this up, more people will be hurt. Dad, we need
to take measures.”
Richard hesitated. “But she isn’t the one driving. Maybe she didn’t want anyone hurt. She is family. We mustn’t harm her.”
“Dad,” Rick said, “don’t worry. We won’t let her get hurt. But she can’t be allowed to keep rampaging through the city.”
At that, Rick’s face flickered with a notion. “Isn’t Victoria also a racer? With her driving

skills, she should be able to catch up to Sharon.’

Before the words finished, Silas rejected the idea outright. “No, that’s too dangerous. If Sharon sees Victoria coming after her, who knows what she might do? What if she kills Victoria? We can’t use Victoria as a test of human nature.”
Richard agreed. “We have people who can handle this. There’s no need to put Victoria at risk. If ordinary drivers can’t catch Sharon, hire better racers.”
He paused, then added, “Send a helicopter to intercept. Whoever can force her car to stop gets three million.”
Scott began to speak, but Richard waved him down. “Enough. Do as I say.”
Richard’s decision settled like a gavel. No one argued.
By now, Wendy’s eyes had completely changed when she looked at Thomas. Like the viewers in the livestream, she’d shifted from casual onlookers to full-blown fangirls.
Thomas was irresistible.
For hours, they’d toyed with those chasing them like a cat playing with mice. Not a single pursuer could get within three meters of their car.
Thomas even asked Sharon casually, “Which car should I take out next?”
He treated it like a game-effortless and amused.
Wendy teased, “Thomas, even if there’s a reward, you don’t have to go all out. Are you trying to bankrupt me today?”
She’d lost track of how many cars he’d flipped or disabled.
Thomas grinned. “No worries. I’m running a buy-one-get-one deal.”
He glanced toward several limited-edition supercars parked not far away. He nodded toward one and said, “That car belongs to the son of Marcentine’s oil magnate. He preys on
