Chapter 1008
Wendy’s eyes widened. “You actually have proof? I thought you were just bluffing.”
Thomas’s lips curved faintly. “How could I possibly joke about something like this?”
Wendy was about to press further when the car suddenly lurched violently.
Her phone nearly flew from her hand.
Before she could make sense of what was happening, a deafening crash erupted behind
them.
She whipped her head around-two cars had slammed straight into the luxury sedan belonging to that oil tycoon’s son.
The vehicle spun several meters before flipping over, thick smoke billowing into the night. No one could tell if anyone inside was still alive.
In the livestream chat, the viewers exploded with excitement.
[What’s the host whispering about? Hurry and turn the mic back on!]
[Yeah, yeah! No sound makes this way less thrilling!]
Seeing the chaos on-screen, Wendy stopped asking questions and switched the sound back
Meanwhile, at the Kalen residence, faces grew darker by the second as reports from Scott’s
assistant poured in.
“Miss McKinzie’s car collided with the oil tycoon’s son’s car.
“Miss McKinzie’s car has also struck the financier’s son’s car…”
Even Richard’s expression hardened now—not just the three Kalen brothers. He opened his

mouth several times, wanting to speak, but forced himself into silence.
Silas finally lost his temper. “Sharon did this on purpose! She’s trying to make enemies for us everywhere!”
Scott’s voice dropped to a cold, dangerous tone. “Rick, Dad, we’ve treated her like family and shown mercy time and again. But she’s never once seen us as her own. Now she’s turned Marcentine upside down. How long are we supposed to let her run wild?” 1
Richard hesitated, then said, “No matter what happens, her life must not be endangered.”
In other words, injuries were acceptable-death was not.
Scott nodded. “Got it.”
For all his contempt toward Sharon, she was still his sister by blood. He wasn’t heartless
enough to wish her dead. 1
He took out his phone to issue orders, but before he could speak, his assistant’s voice came through first.
“Sir, Miss McKinzie’s car has stopped.”
Scott frowned. “Stopped?”
“Yes, sir,” the assistant replied cautiously. “Should we bring her back now?”
Scott had planned to teach her a lesson, but it seemed she’d decided to stop playing the game altogether.
A sharp frustration surged in him, the kind that comes from swinging a fist only to hit air.
Still, since Sharon had stopped, he couldn’t exactly charge on recklessly.
“Bring her back,” he said icily. “If she resists, use force. Don’t bother sparing her dignity.”
“Understood.”
Privately, everyone hoped Sharon would resist, just to give them an excuse to vent their

fury.
After tonight’s chaos, a few mild scoldings would never be enough to appease the Kalen family’s collective anger.
On Sharon’s side, the reason they’d stopped was simple-the fuel tank had run dry.
After a brief moment of thought, she turned to Thomas. “Find a safe spot to pull over. It’s getting late. We should head back to the Kalen estate.”
Wendy looked uneasy. “You’re still going back? Sharon, after the way we toyed with them tonight, they’re not going to let you off easily.”
But Sharon remained calm. “As long as I’m holding the original shares, they wouldn’t dare lay a finger on me.”
Wendy still looked worried.
They had barely stepped out of the car when a set of headlights appeared in the distance.
A vehicle sped toward them and screeched to a halt right in front of the trio.
From it, Scott’s assistant emerged.
