“If Kelly hadn’t shown her true colors, the Biggs family would still be walking all over you. Frankly, that kind of treatment would be hard for anyone to stomach.” Thomas’s words stung the Kalen family, but not one of them. could muster a rebuttal.

Richard let out a heavy breath. “Sharon, you have my deepest apology for all of this…”

Thomas offered a faint, knowing smile. “Apologies are cheap. How about you show it with some real action?”

Rick had long since grown tired of Thomas’s sharp tongue, but this time, the Kalen family was undeniably in the wrong. Any excuse would sound pathetic.

He turned to Sharon. “What is it you want, Sharon?”

“Two conditions,” she stated calmly. “First, Jamie leaves this house. And he is never to set foot here again.”

“Done,” Rick agreed without hesitation. He signaled to the butler. “Please see Mr. Walton out.”

The butler stepped forward. “Mr. Walton, this way.’

Jamie’s eyes were like shards of glass. “I’ll remember this, Sharon.”

Sharon met his gaze with a cool smile. “By all means, remember. I’m sure there’s more to come.

Oh, and one more thing.”

Her smile was light, but her words were a razor’s edge.

“You may be the head of the Walton family, and the Kalen Group may do business with you-but so what? When

I tell you to get out, you leave. From today, you are persona non grata here.

And since you mentioned it… wasn’t your sister Johanna kidnapped, too? I wonder-will you save your sister first, or your precious Victoria?”

Victoria jolted awake, gasping, as a bucket of ice-cold water slammed into her.

She blinked, her vision clearing to reveal a circle of tall, muscular foreign men.

She forced her breathing steady. “Who are you?”

The men ignored her, instead muttering amongst themselves about Samantha, who was tied up nearby.

“This one’s from the Malcolm family. The boss said she’s off-limits. Don’t touch a single hair on her head.”

Another man frowned. “The Malcolm family? If we’ve got the wrong girl, we should let her go. I’m not crossing the Malcolms.”

“Not yet,” a third countered. “She’ll give away our location. We keep her locked up for now.”

After a brief, hushed argument, their attention snapped back to Victoria.
