Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 438

Chapter 438

The air froze in an instant.

Then Kelly finally broke the silence with a piercing scream. “Ahhh! Murder! She stabbed him!”

Nate jolted out of his stupor and rushed toward Carter, instinctively wanting to check on his condition.

But Kelly clutched his arm tightly. “Nate, I’m scared…”

At this moment, Sharon did look terrifying, like a cold-blooded assassin.

Seeing her like that, Nate hesitated. He was genuinely afraid she might lose control and go after Kelly next.

Carter had been caught off guard-otherwise, Sharon never would’ve gotten that close. (1

Staring at the blade embedded in his abdomen, Carter’s pupils shrank. His voice was hoarse, tinged with disbelief and pain.” Why? Sharon, did you really want me dead?”

Sharon’s long lashes trembled like butterfly wings. Her complexion was deathly pale, almost translucent, like a piece of white paper. The hand gripping the knife trembled slightly-this was, after all, her first time doing something like this.

And yet, her eyes remained steady, unyielding, and fearless.

“Didn’t you say last time,” she said, “that you’d give me a chance to get revenge? Well, I’m using that chance now. The only question is, are you still willing to keep your word?”

Carter’s lips curled faintly, his voice low and raspy. “If you hate me this much… why not go straight for the heart?”

“Then I’d be a murderer,” Sharon replied with an emotionless smile. “Relax. Even if I hate you, I wouldn’t kill you. Murder

comes with consequences.”

Perhaps the commotion was too loud, because just then the office doors burst open.

Julliard stormed in, eyes scanning the room-until he caught sight of the scene before him. His expression shifted drastically. ” Sharon! Are you hurt?!”

Nate, seeing Julliard arrive, wasted no time shouting, “Julliard! Quick, restrain that crazy woman! She stabbed Carter!”

Julliard’s gaze flickered, realization dawning. He had arrived over forty minutes earlier than scheduled. Clearly, Sharon hadn’t wanted him to show up too soon.

She had planned this.

He walked over to her side, just as he opened his mouth to speak, Carter cut in, “Julliard, this is between me and Sharon. Stay out of it.”

Julliard paused, his wary gaze fixed on Carter. He looked ready to step in if anything else happened.

Sharon knew all too well that her strike had only succeeded because she caught him off guard. There’d be no second chance.

Slowly, she loosened her grip on the handle.

Carter, for his part, made no move to retaliate.

Julliard let out a barely perceptible sigh of relief.

Carter was quickly rushed to the hospital.

Sharon went with him. After all, the contract hadn’t been signed yet.

Nate, now fully recovered from the shock, pointed a trembling finger at her and exploded.

“Sharon! Aren’t you always preaching about the law? Well, I’ve already called the police! You stabbed Carter. Just wait, you’re going to prison!”

Kelly, too, had snapped out of her fear. The look she gave Sharon was one of naked disgust and hatred.

“Sharon, Carter will never let you off for this!”

Sharon met her glare with a calm, almost smug smile. “No. You’re wrong. Carter won’t do a thing to me.”

Kelly’s breath hitched, her face a mix of disbelief and confusion. “What… what did you just say?”

“If you don’t believe me,” Sharon said, “why don’t we make a bet?”

Before Kelly could respond, Julliard stepped in at just the right moment. “Let’s not argue. Carter is still in surgery. Whatever needs to be said can wait until he wakes up.”

Nate glared daggers at Sharon, his expression twisted with fury. But beneath the rage, there was a gleam of excitement in his

eyes.

After all, he had finally caught Sharon red-handed.
