Sorry, I'm the Final Boss Now novel Chapter 184

The cafeteria, usually a cacophony of noise, fell silent for a moment as Irene’s shout echoed through the room. Heads turned, including Aaron’s and Cedric’s. Aaron quickly looked away. How shallow, he thought. Maggie would never—

The next second, he saw Marguerite jump to her feet, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “Where? Where are they?”

Aaron: “…”

There were no shirtless men, but Marguerite’s searching gaze did stop on the approaching woman with the flowing hair. She looked so familiar.

Lindsay!

She was far more mature and glamorous now, a world away from the fresh-faced girl she remembered.

Lindsay hadn't heard a word Irene said. Her eyes met Marguerite’s, and a jolt of electricity shot through her, her mind going completely blank. Her walk turned into a jog, and when she reached the table, she threw her arms around Marguerite, the tears she'd been holding back finally breaking free.

“Maggie!” she sobbed.

Irene, who had been trying to grab Lindsay, only managed to catch the hem of her dress. Seeing her sister hugging Marguerite, she rushed forward in a panic and tried to pull Lindsay away. “Let go of my goddess! Let me!”

Marguerite: “…”

Lindsay’s sudden embrace had caught Aaron off guard. Now, hearing Irene’s words, his eyes filled with suspicion.

Irene, realizing she’d blurted out her true feelings, blushed crimson. She fumbled for something to say, but then she saw her sister hug Marguerite again, and this time, Marguerite didn’t push her away.

Irene’s eyes were wide with disbelief. How had this happened? Was her sister’s charm really that powerful? Had she just won over her goddess?

Aaron was just as confused. It seemed he had to guard against women now, too. That red dress seemed vaguely familiar, but he couldn't quite place it.

By the pond behind the cafeteria, Lindsay circled Marguerite, examining her from every angle. “So you’re telling me you’re not a ghost? You’re alive?”

Marguerite nodded solemnly. “The one and only. Definitely not dead.”

Lindsay was flabbergasted. “But you still look eighteen!”
